Dropped my truck off at the dealer yesterday and they said the shifter was on back order. How long have people been having to wait for their faulty lightning shifters to be replaced at the dealer?

Considering having it towed back to my house and installing the rotary shifter myself (even though I prefer the feel of the stock shifter).

There is an option for a "Lightning Stick to Rotary Shift Conversion". You can find YouTube videos on line. I'm not sure if you can get it done faster as the printed console drop in takes a while to order..

I thought the one advertised on Amazon included the rotary dial but it just arrived without the dial so I will likely return the plastic drop in. I ordered just the drop in from the original maker on Etsy earlier. Takes a few weeks as they are printed to order. You still have to get the rotary part, either on line or junk yard.

Just had my dealer diagnose my Lightning as having the dreaded shifter malfunction error...again. This will be the second shifter replacement in less than 15 months. The shifter is junk and I'm doing the rotary replacement once the dealer puts in the new shifter. Like you, I was told it was on backorder but should be available very soon, like in the next few days.

My shifter got stuck in gear 4 times in the past week. Every time it was when I would open the door and the shifter would try to move into park automatically. If I waited 10 mins or so, sometimes requiring multiple starts, it would eventually go back to start.
