I sold my 2023 Lariat ER to the dealer last month. The dealer, Carmax, KBB instant offer and Carvana offers were all between $42k-$43k. I originally purchased it in October 2022 for $63,590k after rebates and tax credit factored in.

Eventually dealer came up to $47k. It was paid off so I got a check for $47k from them and signed a 39 month lease on a 2024 Platinum $21k below MSRP and zero % interest with 57% residual.

The dealer put my 2023 on their lot listed for$54,990 and had it sold in a few days. So they made a good profit.

Please share the invoice on: "October 2022 for $62k after rebates and tax credit factored in." $88k - $7500 - premium pricing is what most paid for '23 Lariat ER's - so $62k is a USA record - and that includes sales tax? October 2022 trended to maximal pricing given the high demand for Lightnings.

Good catch. Thanks for keeping me honest. My BAD,
Typo, October 2023, not 2022. The $62k was from memory.
CORRECTED MY PREVIOUS POSTING TO REFLECT CORRECT DATE AND PRICE.

My 2023 original window sticker was about $88,000 I was told. Dealer said that July 19, 2023 Ford reinvoiced their Lightnings on the dealer lot and the new Window Sticker was now $81,840 or $79,945 before Destination charges. Since it was below $80k MSRP before D&D it qualified for the tax credit.

$81,840 Reinvoiced MSRP
-$2,500 Dealer Discount
-$8,250 Rebate and PCO
---------
$71,090 Purchase price
-$7,500 Tax Credit claimed on 2023 tax return
---------
$63,590 Final price

I bought a 2023 lightning pro with all the options I could add to it. It’s about two years old. I have 24,000 miles on it. I got a new auto lease of three years on it and they gave me an estimated value that it is worth , for 41,000… So this would be higher than a trade-in value… Ken.

Thank you - it reads like an SR though - not an ER - which would show an added $10k or so as an option - and are you in a no sales tax state or like me in WA - paying about 9% for car sales tax?

Nah, it was an ER. Here is the windows sticker showing 320 mile of EP range

Congratulations - I recall how Ford dropped the price a lot in that time frame vs. 8 months earlier when I paid high retail! Divine favor was such though that Ford bought back my purchase due to 50+ days in service over 6 months - thank you Ford and I bought another Lightning.

Yes - it seems $41k is a super high residual value - $29k for an SR may be more like it.

Love the discussion. I have the same truck as Flyct, 2023 Lariat ER in Carbonized Gray, built after the Ford reprice so MSRP $79,810 including destination. Bought through business so no Fed rebate, but Ford gave me $7500, Massachusetts gave me $7500, took delivery last week of December and depreciated the whole thing for 2023. Not worried about resale value as I bought a 10-year extended warranty and truck will go to my kid when I'm done with it.

You simply enter the VIN, and the site gives you a full-fledged window sticker, as from the factory. It contains all the information about your car. I restored the sticker for my strictly Ford through the site entered the VIN code and through window sticker lookup ford and received information about the factory configuration. Everything matched the original.

My 2024 Platinum 39 month Lease details signed last day of March 2025 are as follows: No money out of pocket at time of sale Lease Interest rate 0.04% $91,735 MSRP on Window sticker $88,181 Cap Cost after $3,554 X-Plan Discount -$21,615 Incentives, Rebates and PCO applied as down payment $49,299 Residual for a 7,500 mile lease 24,375 total miles (Residual calculated at 55% of MSRP before cost of 3 yr Blue Cruise, which is considered a subscription and cannot be revisualized) 39 payments $571.28 = $53.91 + $37.37 tax

Purchased my 2023 Ford F150 Lightning XLT with the extended battery and Equipment Group 312A package in mid-April of 2024. MSRP before some dealer “add-ons” was $71,990.
I just received a ‘base value’ from CARFAX stating that the value of my vehicle is now $34,140 !!!!
If this is correct then this is friggin insane!
I am in my mid 60’s and for decades I have purchased a new vehicle about every 5-6 years. No previous vehicle I’ve owned, regardless of the manufacturer and type vehicle has ever depreciated as much and as quickly as my Ford Lightning if I am to believe CARFAX.
Anyone out there who can confirm or deny this CARFAX value?
Thanks
Those online sites often give low ball offers. Check out AutoTrader private seller listings for real world seller/buyer numbers.

You make a valid point.
On another note, I can’t imagine driving a Lightning that does not have the extended range battery. I have a friend that has a new Lightning without the extended range battery. He does a good bit of highway driving to locations out of town and hates having to stop so often at charging stations.
I like my standard range XLT. I wouldn’t want an Extended Range. I drive less than 170 miles round trip 99% of the time. With the SR, I don’t drag around an extra 1k lbs I don’t need. And I’m $10k to the better :) I can imagine why you want an ER, but we all have our own gig.
