Yes, EV's have terrible resale no matter what the brand, you are selling to a fairly small audience in a sea of EV's that have pretty crazy incentives for new purchases.

Ford simply apologized for the two batteries failing. However, no additional explanation was offered. So, I pushed and complained! The customer service representative at Ford was great. She even arranged a free loaner vehicle for the 13 days it took to have the new batteries installed and kept in touch (called ever 2 to 3 days). She did some research and saw that I have been a loyal Ford customer for many years. To my surprise several days after I got my truck back Ford extended the bumper-to-number warranty to 5 years / 60,000 miles (from 3 years / 36,000 miles) at no charge! That’s what I call great customer service. Of course, the battery warranty is still 8 years / 100,000 miles.

My truck had its first battery issue just this week, 5500 miles.

I'll speculate your information is sadly correct. We are in newly uncharted territory regarding trading in non-Tesla EV's. Perhaps it will be prudent to retain your Lightning longer??

Teslas resale is absolutely horrble. They arent immune.

CarFax says my 23 XLT SR with 8,000 miles is worth 37K and I owe 50k.
