Front Suspension Excessive Bobbing

My '23 Lariat ER feels like it's over spring, under dampened, or both in the front. Any modest speed hump or dip in the road causes the front end to bob several times after the initial contraction. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm wondering if it's just a normal characteristic of the truck versus a possible defective shock absorber.

Bilstein HD has made a huge improvement on all our trucks and vans. The ride on stock shocks is too loose (as you describe, even when they’re new. The Lightning is the best handling truck stock so far, but I’d still like to upgrade with Bilstein. Unfortunately, Bilstein still does not make a product for the Lightning.

Update: I paid more attention to the performance over bumps after your post. I don’t notice excessive bounce. It seems to be adequately dampened. I’d still get Bilstein if I could, but I can’t complain about the stock ride. From what you describe, there might be something wrong that needs attention. ( We had a Chevy van once that came with the wrong shocks up front from the factory. )

I also encounter this regularly. My son has actually gotten motion sickness riding in the back seat from some of the freeway bobbing. My dealer has told me there is no fix, but i would be curious if Ford has an improvement it can offer.

mileage is 3340. vin is 1ftvw1ev3pwg26440.
i would also be curious whether there is anything Ford can do to stop my radio presets from being wiped out when there are software updates. I am currently resetting them for the fifth time in one year. I have not heard of any other model having this problem with software updates.

This should fix the bobbing front. I doubt Ford will do anything since the factory suspension meets their original design intent.

As far as radio presets, i believe that is fixed in a later update.

I think you are suggesting that i purchase new shocks, which seems like a strange thing for anyone to need to do (Ford should acknowledge its mistake and replace the shocks as part of a recall).

I am not sure i understand what you are saying about the presets. you say that it "is fixed", which means you think it is already fixed. But my presets we lost again just last week, so it is not yet fixed. Your reference to a later update seems counter to the first part of the sentence, but maybe you are saying Ford might fix it someday in the future (timing unknown).

It is not clear to me whether you are with Ford. If so, please feel free to pass on these messages as to things that Ford might do to improve customer satisfaction.

thanks.
