Anyone else have questions about where the >$10,000 price increase from the Pro to XLT trim comes from? Seems like the major differences are the front light bar and cloth seats (with other odds and ends upgrades here and there). I know the XLT pricing is speculative still but, if it anywhere close to the current guesses, I don’t know that I’m seeing $10k worth of reasons to upgrade from the base model. Anyone have some perspective on this?

I actually think the base model is nicer looking and think the vinyl seats are easier to keep clean. That plastic light bar looks kinda cheap to me. So I agree, I’d rather just pay 10g for the better battery
Word around here is that the extended battery won’t be available to non-fleet pro customers. If that’s true then we have to pay over $10k to open up the possibility of an additional $7k to put extended battery on an XLT. That’s a grand total of >$17k to get access to 70 more miles of range.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m floored by the opening price of the pro model and I’m grateful to the folks at Ford for making this possible. I just don’t quite understand the huge jump in price outside of the other models are subsidizing FMC’s pro pricing.

Looks like it cut off your text in the thread (but it showed up in the notification).

I haven’t seen anything, including that article, that suggests non-fleet customers can’t purchase a single pro model. The only reporting I’ve heard about is that we can’t likely upgrade the battery, but fleet customers can.
@ChasingCoral @Spade312 @RDale Ya’ll seem to have some pretty good firsthand knowledge of all things Ford and Lightning (thanks for sharing all the great info by the way!). Any thoughts about the big price jump between Pro and XLT?

I agree. It seems like it should be about a $4K difference. I'll stick with the Pro. Most of the things I want I can get aftermarket for a lot less.

Welcome!

I agree that it should really be a $4k difference.
Viewed in this breakdown of trims, nothing stands out to me about the XLT.

I believe there are about 1,000 PRO trim orders, like mine, but while the PRO trim sold out fairly early on, I would suggest that it may actually be due to FLEET orders, as they don't show in the reservation or order number, not due to us customer orders - yes, Fleets are [not] restrained to just Pro models, of course, but I would think that it's the type of model they would gravitate toward, depending on the usage.

Are you sure for purchases are limited to the Pro trim? At one point I heard they could order other trims if they wanted to.

no, they've produced PROs all along the way, but many of those early ones were Dealer Demos - but customer Pro's have started to show up recently. I'm one of the few to order in Georgia, and maybe the only PRO in Georgia, for a customer order. Yep, you won't see many of ANY Lightnings on the road, much less a PRO version.

should have my window sticker this week,
build week scheduled, after 6 moves back from 5/30 originally, to 7/25...
maybe I'll receive it before the end of August
