My dealer is offering to sell me his 2022 Platinum f150 Lighting that has a few thousand miles that he has personally put on his store demo for the price I am getting my 2023 Lariat ER with Blue Cruise.

If it’s a mannequin, it should be able to be sold as new which would net the tax credit. If that’s the case and truck is in good condition I would say go for it….even without the tax credit in play.
Most 2022 Plats had every feature enabled (seats, heating steering wheel, scales etc…). 2023s have most of these missing.

What kind of seats does it have? I think that was the very first deletion – Multi Contour Seats, or something like that. I think it's a good deal, especially if you like the color.

The tax credit depends on the state. Some states require title and registration on mannequins, making them used vehicles.

I have a Lariat SR but I would absolutely do this in my state, even pay a little extra. The Platinum at my dealership is drool worthy. Everything including multi-contour and max recline seats. It's everything I wanted but couldn't afford.

As long as it had all the options, enabled, was well taken care of with no damage or issues; I would take it. If you are not going to be doing a lot of driving, or hauling, the minor amount of range that was lost between the lariat ER and the platinum would be negligible for you.

Does MSRP put it above $80k? Wouldn’t be eligible for the tax credit, no matter what the dealer sells it for. Something to look into. Perhaps with the price difference, the tax credit doesn’t matter anyway.

$80k limit doesn’t go into force until Sunday.
