I have an iPhone 14 pro in an Apple leather case. I can’t for the life of me get it to wirelessly charge (with or without the case).
seems the sweet spot is having the phone horizontal but up raises about 1/2 inch above the bottom ledge.
anyone come up with a creative solution or am I missing something?

Just give up. It is a very bad design and likely will never connect. If it does it will take forever to charge and your phone will just get hot. Ford has an update for the charging module, but it can not be delivered OTA - your dealer must install it and most will not because Ford has not issued a bulletin saying it needs to be. Grab a cable. It's the only way you'll get a decent charge.

Unfortunately I think you are right. AT&T has the MagSafe cable on sale today for $19. picked that up and will drop in place instead.

While I’ve had nothing but trouble with the wireless charger in my Mach E, the charger in the Lightning has been flawless from day 1. iPhone 12Pro in a plastic case.

Same issue, same phone (actually the Pro Max, or whatever they call the big screen one). Same leather case.

I do like the wireless Apple CarPlay, but the charging pad is proving unreliable, often disconnecting and stopping the charging of the phone, even though the phone doesn't appear to move (unless it's somehow shifting and slipping off of the little "ledge" there due to the angle of the pad).

It's a really unfortunate design to put the charging pad on an angle, instead of flat. Also, it's a bit of a deal to navigate that small space to put the phone in place and then retrieve it later (which I often forget because it's like out-of-sight, out-of-mind)! Maybe the regular sized iPhone doesn't have that issue... but why not just leave it more in the open, on a flat surface, where I'm also more likely to see it and remember to take it with me?!?

Hmmm... magsafe cable. I like that idea. I have a short one of those from an older Apple Watch. Will give that a try!

[edit]
Duh, Apple Watch cable, while magnetic, ain’t gonna work with the iPhone!
No but there are lots of MagSafe chargers available on Amazon.
