I’m very excited and have an early reservation (which I’m finding out apparently means less than I had hoped after this first wave).

I am likely to get a loaded Lariat vs. platinum but I’m nervous about the range. Especially considering the platinum will have less than the stated 300.
I was excited about the rumors of under promising and over delivering on range and the estimates considering 1000lb load.
When do we actually find out the range? When you order are you still able to turn down the vehicle? How does that work?

The range will be tested on pre-production units. That may be what Jim Farley posted about today:

Usually range announcements are released at about the same time as customer units start to be shipped out.

You can turn down an order when the truck is at the dealership in fact, doing so will probably make your dealer happy as they are free to sell it with significant ADM.

Correct me if I'm wrong but that did happen with the Mach-E where people were getting better range numbers than what the rating was?

It's possible that it could happen again with the Lightning but until non-Ford people start testing it's hard to say. Especially for a truck this big.

IIRC, my Mach E's early Monroney stickers didn't have an EPA range or MPGe rating. That came sometime between the car being produced and it being delivered.

It wasn't long after the EPA rating was out and independent reviewers got sufficient time with the Mach E to do independent range tests. That's when we learned Ford had been conservative.
