And will they allow us to drive them? Is that how this works? Still no invite for me, but anxious to actually give one a spin.
A few weeks ago my dealer said they were expecting their demos in about 45 days. He said they would reach out to people who have reservations as soon as they got them in the door so we could test drive them. And will they allow us to drive them? Is that how this works? Still no invite for me, but anxious to actually give one a spin.
One update to this: The two dates I've seen for initial production of salable units (including FCTP) are 3/1 and 3/14. So I don't think they are in production yet but probably will be soon. Last I heard, they were still making Pre-production prototypes.Based on Ford's website, starting in Spring 2022, all Electric Vehicle (EV)-Certified dealers will be receiving one 2022 MY demo unit that they will be able to use to give customers a hands-on experience with the truck and the ability to test drive. I believe I heard these vehicles are in production.
Any word if they started actual production? One update to this: The two dates I've seen for initial production of salable units (including FCTP) are 3/1 and 3/14. So I don't think they are in production yet but probably will be soon. Last I heard, they were still making Pre-production prototypes.
Normally, FCTP vehicles will be available for test drives, as loaners, etc. for 4-6 months before the dealer can sell them.
What is FCTP for the common man?The trucks coming out now are probably pre-production prototypes. FCTP vehicles will follow next.
