At this point, I think it would be more strange if I started the truck in the morning and had a notification that it installed an update overnight as scheduled, I've been through the whole list above and they have all been at somewhat random times.Probably coincidence but.... (Note I took delivery on 1/16/23)
I topped off my 12v Tuesday night with my motorcycle tender. Checked yesterday AM, no updates pending.
Checked again after work yesterday, but sill nothing while in my work parking lot. Then drove to truck accessory store from work and an update applied. So strange. Somehow did it while driving.
4.1.2?I’m on 4.2.1 as of yesterday, but very confused as to how it happened…
Had been 400 miles away from home for 5 days. On return trip yesterday I stopped at a rest area just long enough to pee and when I got back in the truck and started up, the display went blank and then restarted with the new 4.2.1 version. I was still 200 miles from home. So how did it get the update? The only connection for 5 days prior was me using Phone as Key and Apple Car Play. Did it use my mobile phone to download the update?
And while I’m happy to have received 4.2.1 there is now a brief learning curve to find where everything is now. Love using the volume knob for temperature adjustments, that’s great! But I don’t know how to find my software version using the Sync display in the truck. I searched and searched this morning and still didn’t find it. The only way I know I have 4.2.1 is from the announcement in my Ford Pass app. So, is there a way to see the current PowerUp version from the truck?
It has it either way, it just won't let you use it after the 3 months. Truck will still use for updates, location, Big Brother, etc.I don’t think mine does anymore because I stopped paying for it after the 3 month feebie.
12.55 might be low, I'd throw a trickle charger on it.Update: The pending update for 22-PU1009-MIL-DTE should have been installed automatically last night at 9:00 PM in accordance with the previously established schedule I set up. It failed. Today, I have tried twice to install the update manually, but both attempts were unsuccessful. They stopped in-process for some unknown reason. Tonight, I will charge the truck up to the 80% level automatically. At 7:00 AM tomorrow morning, I have scheduled the update to be installed automatically. I wish I could be a little more optimistic. PS -- Just for grins, I checked the frunk battery. It was reading 12.55 volts, which I assume should be sufficient to do just about anything. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Lou,OK. Dumb question or two I am just trying to picture how this should work. So, I can certainly hook up one of my trickle chargers to the battery in the frunk. I assume this charger should be plugged into the wall instead of one of the truck's power outlets. I'm also guessing that the frunk has to be closed before the update can proceed. Correct? Do I leave the trickle charger "on" at the time the update is scheduled for installation? Your comments and recommendations are appreciated.
I have noticed this also. Doesn't seem to be consistent. Happens at times when I turn it off too, kind of like the "cold outside please plug in" without the pop up.Since receiving 4.1.3, about a month ago, I usually get this “bong bong” a few seconds after startup. No warning lights, and can’t figure out why it’s making the bong bong noise or what it’s associated with. It makes me feel like I’m on a Southwest Airlines flight!![]()
Go to earlyaccess.ford.com and get on the waiting listHow do you get access to the early access?
4.1.2 was the big UI change. This is definitely different. I'm an EAP member too.It should be pretty much the same as 4.1.2 that was issued to Early Access members.
So you think this update was to tell us about it?Agreed but I just received 4.2.2 today and yet I've been using the Voice Message feature throughout our 2-1/2 month trip pulling the trailer. Ford has heard several observations from our trip.
