It appears that the bulk of our issues with the dealers are addressed here. Not only does it look like they are doing the right thing for the customer (a very "Tesla" experience), but the dealers sound happy... they can keep doing what they already are if they choose. Win-win.

Ford has a ways to go to catch up with Tesla's vertical integration. The good news, is that Farley has studied it, and is actually making changes at a remarkable pace for a legacy automaker. Just because I am a curious man, I stopped by a local Ford dealer and asked him his thoughts on Farley's dealer restructure plan. I was told "hell yes we are signing up for Model E, no way in hell we would lose out on this!"

That is remarkable buy-in from the dealer side where I expected some resistance to this type of change. Jim Farley just maybe the second smartest guy in the automotive business at this point.

Not close enough considering Tesla can move a car along the supply chain in a timely fashion with accurate estimations of delivery. Lol.
I ordered a Model y in March to replace my wife’s car. Estimated delivery was supposed to be October 22. Each month it kept moving out. When it reached February 2023 I cancelled the order. Of course if I wanted to spring for an additional 12k for a self driving software I could have gotten it much sooner.

The demand is extreme. Tesla is delivering a crazy number of cars, and the demand keeps increasing. I was pleasantly surprised with how short a time it took for my most recent order, I think it's getting better.

True but I had a current lease expiring in November. I ordered a BMW i4 in June and the build started this week. Should have it by December.

Fantastic! Did you see that BMW has officially adopted the 4680 going forward, and is dumping a ton of money in building plants? Terrific development from a great car company.

Data points are data points. That certainly sucks. We’ve ordered two M3LR and both were delivered ahead of schedule. Meanwhile, my truck has been sitting in a parking lot in ATL for two weeks. I’d rather just not know 😂
