Hello everyone. I placed a reservation on 6/30/2021 (11048065 ) and have not yet been allowed to order. I know this to be common. What I'm most interested in at present is finding out as to when i should expect to be able to order. Also, I'd like to know if changing to a larger dealer (larger allotment) might move up my order date?

I don't know if anyone knows the answer to this for sure... But, I think changing to a larger dealer may actually move you back unless you have some sort of special relationship with said dealer. It might be useful to reach out to dealers and let them know that you are interested in buying one if someone backs out on a Truck that comes in...

I can tell you I reserved back in Aug of 2021.

Placed order on 9-8-22.

Truck built during the week of 10-22 to 10-31. Couldn't believe they built within a week.

I am now waiting for it to be shipped with supposed ship date during 11-18 to 11-24

From my experience, even though I went through a small dealer (dealer supposedly said they had over 30 reservations), what made an impact for me is dealer moved me up in their priority because I have been a past customer. Secondly, what helped is once I placed my order, I asked dealer to change priority to a 10 from 19.

Talk with your dealer, see if they're willing to say where you are on their list. Allocations very by state and dealership. I doubt moving to a large dealer would help you at this point given that they are likely to have long lists.

In addition to asking your dealer where you are on their list, ask them how many Lightnings their customers have been able to order.

I placed an reservation on 5/20/21 and still waiting to order. I know my number at my dealership but that tells me nothing about when I will hear from Ford 😟

I placed my reservation on May 25th 2021 and Ford reached out to me last Tuesday and invited me to order. They are doing a good job of playing catch-up. I'd be patient for a little longer.

there is no logic I made reservation on 5/20/2021 and have not been allowed to order There are some who have booked on 8/20/2021 that got to order so there is no logic I think they are doing lottery draws never seen a worse process without any clear info on how they are doing this.

A friend/coworker of mine reserved months after me but took the time to stop by the dealership on a regular basis. This got him moved to the top of the list at the dealership. He’s had his Lightning Lariat for six months now.

This is crazy I would have ordered the Lariat with the price hike there is not much difference between the XLT Thanks

Conversion of reservations to orders is not a random process. It is also independent of trim as For doesn’t know what trim you want until after you order. Trim does impact build scheduling as does parts availability.

I can tell you that I made my reservation on June 2, 2021. Ford has now reached out to me to place my order. I have confirmed MSRP with no ADM with my dealer, which has signed up for Model E Certified Elite dealership status. I have a meeting with their sales manager to go over details, make an order deposit, and place the order. The dealer has a new 2022 Lightning available for test drives. I drove it for about 1 hour. I'm very critical, being involved in electric vehicles and battery RD&D for over 30 years - I'm very impressed with the Lightning! Just a guess, but you should see an invitation to order before the end of the year based on your reservation date.

Yes. I did modify it a little bit since, though. I also got an email from Ford asking me for feedback on my ordering plans:

"Thank you for reserving an F-150® Lightning™. Your front seat to the all-electric future is coming. To help move us forward with production planning, we need some details from you about the truck you plan to order. The information you provide will help us determine when to reach out to you again about ordering. Note that we expect nearly all of our current reservation holders will be invited to order by next summer.

Please take a moment to respond, and help us get closer to moving your F-150 Lightning from our assembly line to your driveway."

I added retractable running boards and a couple of other minor items to my saved build.
