Very excited about purchasing an electric vehicle and supporting a movement of less fossil fuel consumption. We had made our reservation early July 2021 for the vehicle from our small local ford dealership. We were waiting and wondering when we'd get a chance to convert our reservation to an order but nothing has happened. Honestly we are not surprised when we learned they took 200K reservations but only built 20K cars in 2022. It just makes me wonder if this new reservation trend from auto manufacturers is a tactic to boost stock prices while at the same time giving them leverage to raise prices. Not to mention they are sitting on $20,000,000 of customer reservation fees. We just want to do something positive for the environment and not blow smog out the tailpipe.

Very appreciative to all the lightningowners.com members for posting such great and informative information. Looking forward to getting an invitation from FORD or my local dealer to convert my reservation to an order.

After realizing that some ford dealers could prioritize a percentage of orders and that our local small time dealer allocation would never yield a build date......we have changed dealers. I know FORD and the dealers are tired of hearing from customers so hopefully they ramp up production and some of us get invitations in the next waves

With a July date you have a good chance at ordering a 2023. Ford should make more than 80,000 2023 trucks. Of course, the remaining information is where you stand on your dealer's list. Have you learned that from your dealer?

Thanks for the response "ChasingCoral". My original dealer has not even built 1 Lightning to date and only has 3 new cars on his lot right now. A very small town car dealer with low allotments of vehicles. After calling FORD several times and a number of local Portland Oregon dealers, it became clear that FORD was not allocating based on my reservation number. How naive of me to think they would be allowing customers to order in the sequence they placed their reservations. Therefore after talking to a FORD representative, they suggested I should change to another dealer in Portland that sells a larger volume of trucks. The new dealer was very vague as to where my reservation would stand in their existing stack of orders and how they were ordered (list of their buddies or long time customers vs reservation dates). They did indicate they have the ability to prioritize a certain number of reservations and that the more often I checked in, the more likely my reservation might surface at the top. Honestly it is very hard to determine what is "sales" talk to get my $$ and who has concrete advice. Even talking to 3 different FORD representatives on the phone yielded varying levels of information and customer service on the subject. My current approach is to send an email to my dealer's sales representative weekly to try to get on one of the upcoming waves.

Hi, Oregon guy here too. You need to check the dealership page on this forum and figure out the one that you want. Just a heads up, most of them will slap a huge ADM on these. If you are willing to pay a 7-10K ADM you will probably get a 23. Otherwise switch to a good dealer and wait. I preordered within 24 hours of it going live and I'm still waiting.

Thanks for the feedback "blueshy". I think.... I finally found a good dealership and they have stated they will not be adding an ADM. Who knows what the MSRP + ADM will be when this frenzy is over. Holding on for a wild ride called FORD.
