Have had this beautiful machine for about two weeks, and love it. Have been plugging in every night to a Tesla wall connector with J1772, with scheduled charge time from 12am to 3am due to utility providers incentives. Plugged in last night and woke up to a message that the truck went into deep slumber and to manually start the truck. When i started, noticed that it did not charge at all. Anyone had similar issue or should i reach out to Ford. TIA, Cheers!

I haven't had this on my lightning, but have had it on some Escapes/Escape Hybrids if the 12v battery gets depleted.
If it were me, I might have my 12V battery tested to make sure it isn't a dud, I'd hate to have that little 12V battery cause further issues. There are a few different threads around this site indicating 12V battery issues/problems they can/have caused if you look around a bit.

oh is that what it is, will look around more. should i need to bring it in to the dealer to have it checked or should autozone or similar be able to diagnose battery. Will also give Ford a call to see what their take is on the fix.

If you can get your dealer to do it quickly, I'd do that, again not saying that's what it is, and I do know that last night specifically there was a glitch in ford pass/charger connectivity, so you might just try again this evening and see if it does it again.

I guess you said you are using a tesla charger and then I forgot about the deep sleep. I'd mention to your dealer the deep sleep mode if you do take it in.

called the dealer service, they asked me to bring it in and that it would take about 4-5 days before they can check it, and will not be able to provide loaner for the duration, bummer.

That sounds like my dealer. Fix will take 5 minutes, but we need to have your truck here for a week plus to be able to get to it. I might run it by autozone or similar and have them test it, or ask for a specific day from your dealer, I've been able to do this by having my sales guy go set up an appointment for me.

Hi there, I'd be happy to look into your Lightning concerns on my end. Will you send us a message with your VIN and dealership info? I can look into things on my end.

This happened to me on Monday night, it stopped charging about 12:30 am, at 70%. I plugged it in Tuesday night at 9pm and it charged from 50% to the 90% limit. My EV charger app did show some wild fluctuations again between 11:30pm to 12:30am but it became consistent after that. Using Juice box 40. I'm not taking it in unless it does it again.

Update-Last night plugged in the charger but wouldn't charge, so restarted the charger and plugged it back and started charging. Left it charging for a few hours to get enough for my commute today and set charging to scheduled start and stop time to later in the night (due to utility incentives), woke up to see it did not charge during the scheduled time. And set it back to 'charge when plugged' and truck started charging. Looks like something to do with option of scheduled time of start/stop. Not sure what could be the fix, but will give it a try tonight and see what happens.

The charge scheduling in Ford's software is pretty buggy still. It is a major source of complaints, it is not just you.

This happened to me when I left a backup smartphone plugged in overnight logging OBD2 data while charging at home.
I went to start via FordPass the next morning and couldn't because the truck had gone to sleep.
When I went to start it manually it said it had entered deep sleep due to a battery drain.
Any way to disable that such that I can leave the cell phone and OBD2 reader plugged in?

no, it is not. However, it is not charging when set to scheduled time. Working around by setting alarm to wake up at set times and start and stop charging manually 😄
There are a number of good EVSEs that will let you program charging times from the power side of the cord. With as unreliable as the onboard system seems to be, one of these EVSEs might be a decent investment. 😎

Um, I don't think you would want to even if it was possible. Seems like you would kill your little 12 volt battery.

Figured best way to charge on a set schedule is to set it up in the truck itself versus doing it in the app. I had the setting in the app, but wouldn't work most times, now set it up in the truck and is working. This should be fixed for app to have same capability and reliability @Ford Motor Company so it improves user convenience.

You might try deleting the (home) charging location in the app and setting it up again. It mAy not realize that it is at the correct place to start the charge.
