I got to drive a platinum lightning around a bit ago and captured this of my trip.

pretty sure it’s not quite accurate yet but it is a nice feature to show you how much energy is being used by climate/accessories/exterior temp and driving.

the EPA estimate includes some usage in those categories as well so it’s not like my range is lessened if there are positive %s in those 3 non-driving categories.

After reading this, just a quick reminder for those getting the ER packs that 2.5 miles/kwh is what the EPA range works out to for lariat, etc. (actually 2.4, but 2.5 easier to remember) For many of us with crappy DC fast charger infrastructure, it will be important to know that for range estimations. (yes, I know the truck will help, but suspect I will be smarter than the truck....)

Yes I'm guessing that 5.0kWh is an incorrect calculation so don't read too much into it. Range was 293mi when I had started.

Driving on the highway (75-80 mph), I was using 50% more energy than I was driving. So I was driving 50 miles, but using 75 miles of "range". Driving less than 50mph seemed to be more normal usage of miles driven = range used but was harder to keep track.

I got just under 3mph of charge using the 110v plug, and 15mph with the public level 2 charger I used.

Some reason fotd trip calculations not always accurate. There are days when my mach e miscalculate miles driven on a trip and algorithm calculations are 2 to 3 times off. Best we will get 2.5 miles per kw on good days from lightning.

It should have been on the "This Trip" screen, not Trip 1. 5.0 is possible if you've just been driving slow around as a show vehicle. I can hit 6 or 7 in the Mach E if I'm not doing anything.

And that's as long as "This Trip" was during real world driving.
