Those are all prototypes and no real indication many of them will ever be produced, at least as shown. But at this stage they will certainly have an EV truck in the mix at some point. I’d go electric Taco in a heartbeat just for the smaller size.

Rivian is in between the Lightning and the Taco. “Base” Rivian is cheaper than the comparable Lightning at the Lariat trim level.

The electric Taco is something I’d be interested in.

Yes, the Rivian is very similarly sized to the original generation Tundra crew cab, but with more cab area and a shorter bed. Agreed on the pricing. Every time I see someone say “the Rivian is SOO much more expensive than the Lightning” I try to point out the equipment differences. I think the comparable trucks are going to be pretty close.

I am not a hard core truck person and somewhat concerned over the gigantic size of the “half ton” trucks these days. My OG Ridgeline is perfectly sized for my needs. I would buy and daily drive an EV Ridgeline, Maverick, or maybe even Santa Cruz tomorrow if given the opportunity. Looks like I will get a chance to order a Lightning long before that happens though.

Unfortunately I need the bigger size due having two car seats in the back with my MIL typically sandwiched in between them. Plus I need a higher tow cap. for my boat. Otherwise the electric Tundra looks nice.


Unless they f it up like the new Tundra and don't even give it tow hooks.
