The following went out regarding the ICE F-150s:

Now the same thing is showing up on Job 2 MY2022 Mustang Mach Es:

It seems there is a chip shortage problem.

I'm hoping they are holding back enough chips to fully equip the initial run of Lightnings but we might all want to be ready for delivery without that feature.

I will say that I've never used it in my Mach E.

Same. A useless feature that was never a reason I bought any modern car. I believe someone that needs this feature, needs a fare pass for a train/bus and not a driver's license.

I've actually hated how much I've used the backup camera to park.

Just listened to the feature part of the latest Long-McArthur Ford weekly show (thanks @fordvideoguy!). Lots of Ford vehicles being held up over parts, mostly chips, mostly high-end features like auto parking. Folks who want their ICE trucks scheduled sooner are having to delete these advanced features.

The good news is those of us with Lightings scheduled (and I’m guessing all 2022s) seem to be on track to get our trucks built intact.

You can check the feature part of the video about 30 minutes in:

I hope that our builds/orders are "protected" from these parts shortages. They don't seem to be offering any "delete" options for us. (Wave 4 order, no scheduled production date).
It's really hard to predict which parts are going to become unavailable or in short supply and for how long. Last year we bought a new Jeep that has adaptive cruise control, which I do like and use. The dealer said that ours was the last one he had and could not order that option due to supply chain issues. I'm sure eventually that changed. Ford my want a smooth launch for the Lightning and prioritize pats for it.
