I’m always for more competition. They push the manufacturers to outdo each other tech and price wise. But did I miss it…no specs on the battery size or power. The best part about the concept was gone…suicide doors.

With the commercial about “premature electrification”, which was hilarious, I was hoping for a solid state “blue” battery that would help with“PE” problems.

I figured with the extra time they'd have something more bespoke than what Ford came up with. Nope. It's just a ram with an electric drivetrain. Pretty disappointing when compared to the concept, but that's almost always the case in the car industry.

I think it’s smart. They need to convert some of their customers to EVs. Not changing too much at once will ease those guys in to it. The RAM guys are way more backward than the Ford guys ;)

It looks like they are planning to deliver a RAM version of the 2022 Lightning in 2025. I loaned them $100 for a chance to possibly get one in 2025, but I’ll keep watching the specs and details, especially the details on the range extender and the V2X offering. If the specs look like 2022 specs and the range extended gets pushed out to 2027, then I’ll be asking for my money back before they open the order banks.

I love the F150. I love the fact it doesn’t look like the Cybertruck, even the Rivian. I love how no one knows it’s a BEV unless they know to look for the light signature. The REV is a good idea, but two years too late (3 once production starts). They had two years after Ford to come out with something better but it is essentially the same thing with a Ram badge, again three years later.

With the Fiat 500 being electrified in 2013, I would have hope they would have come up with an electrified Ram quicker. Supposedly there is a range extender version which is essentially a plug hybrid (Jeep 4xe) or GMs Volt (fuel engine as generator).

It's fine, probably a bit more efficient than the Lightning. Rams are known for nice interiors and good ride quality so it probably has that. Maybe it's marginally better than the Lightning. If it has 400 miles of range it will bring in fence sitters. I don't know, I'm making a lot of assumptions... really all we know is how it looks. It's fine.

Fantastic. Every vehicle in America should be an EV or at least have an EV version, so this is an A+ for me with one caveat: as always, price.

if they do what Ford did at first announcement, its awesome, i'd buy one immediately. If they do what Ford did with their Year 2 gouging, then i hope nobody buys it and it sits on the lots for months like the lightnings are now.

I always thought of RAM trucks as something people bought who could not afford a proper Ford truck. I still have some saltiness towards Chrysler products... er Stellantis or whatever the hell they want to call themselves these days. But I will give them credit on the RAM interiors. (I also like think Jeep is a standout brand) Look and feel much better than the F-150. The fake wood inserts are lame af. My god I hate even looking at em... tacky. And on a 70-80k truck, GTFOH. Wonder how the sound system is on the RAM?

Well, I am a Jeep addict. Yes, brought to you by the makers of Ram. I have owned various Jeeps for 40 some odd years now. Very little of any of those Jeeps ever ended up being factory original, because as much as I love my Jeeps, the original equipment is painfully sub-par. There is not a single piece of drivetrain on my current Jeep that is original.

As stated in a prior post, anyone wanting to keep track of how Stalantis is doing with their electrification need go no further than the 4xe forums. Based on every stitch of empirical evidence I can find, there is little chance that the REV will be cutting edge in any way. I really do try not to be a negative nelly, but I just cannot imagine Stalantis all of a sudden finding any magic potions in how they do business. The 4xe is decades-old technology plagued with poor quality components and uninspired execution.

Anybody who thinks the REV is going to be any different is definitely looking at a different set of data points than I am.

Looks like a Ram 1500 from front and side and a Lightning from behind

Maybe seeing the success of the Lightning encouraged them to follow the traditional lines of their Ram which has a strong following of its own.

With Rivian appearing to be potentially but inevitably entering its crash-and-burn phase (figuratively not literally) and the CT remaining a f-ugly wet dream, the Lightning may continue to enjoy its time in the sun and those of you waiting for big price discounts may be waiting a little longer than you think (unless you want an SR)

If you're interested in what technology is going to be used, all you need to do is to check out the 4xe.

Yes, they are more than likely going to be a series hybrid. Even they don't really know what they're going to build yet, as they are in the early stages, but they do not appear to be interested in doing very much on the BEV side; at least not initially. Dollars to donuts it is going to be a traditional style drivetrain, with a battery and an auxiliary electric motor/generator. Done right, this could actually be a very appealing setup. Judging by current Stalantis products, I'm not holding my breath that this truck is going to be done right lol.
