This is why I’m so interested in the F150 Lightning truck! Oh yeah these are Tesla guys! Thank god Ford is so hampered by their dealer network. I’d have probably broken down and bought one by now. They are still charging $20-$50k mark ups in the Portland OR area. Probably start coming down next year when the CyberTruck starts production.

I'm new to the forum and don't have a truck. Not even on the waiting list. And that's a whole nother Oprah! I've been a Tesla owner (almost 200k miles driven) for almost 10 years and know the EV world pretty well. Lightning reviews have been overwhelmingly positive. From Sandy Munro to individual owners, everyone has really great impressions but for me this one really takes the cake. There are probably other videos by real contractors putting a Lightning thru the paces on a job site but this is the first good one I've seen. Really testing Pro Power with heavy load tools. They were pretty harsh on the Rivian and typically don't pull punches on anybody's review.

I can attest to it's true value, smooth driving, powerful electrical tools, and it's ease of ownership. I've not stopped at a gas station since. Well, except to pull up next to my wife's car to fill her up.... oh well. They had a McDonalds, too, so the stop was worth it : )

I keep a mini fridge in the back seat area. I have a 20amp extension cord plugged in to the rear bed outlet and snaked down thru the tailgate and the tow hitch to provide power to my camper, WHILE towing. I power my home, if needed. I drove mostly in SPORT mode, with it's regenerative 'slowing' that makes the most sense for my driving style - I hardly ever use any 'physical' brakes. As an insurance agent, right now in the midst of the middle of 'Medicare season', I stop at my customer's homes throughout the day - the truck is NEVER turned 'off', it simply waits for my return. There is no such thing as idling. There is no exhaust pipe, muffler, or even 'gas tank', not to mention neither an engine, transmission, clutch, gears, rear end, or oil pan.

My future grandchildren will wonder 'why' us old people EVER put some flammable fuel in a vehicle just to be able to drive it! Crazy old folks!

I've met men who are excited to see such a machine - they've been 'wondering' how all this will work.
I've met men who shrug off any discussion of such a new 'machine', as they doubt it will ever work.

Have you gotten tired of people stopping you and asking questions? Yeah it will be like trying to explain being tied to the wall with a land line in the 80's to my granddaughter. She can't even imagine such a system.

no, as most don't know enough to even notice that it is an 'ev' vehicle - it looks too much like any other F150... until, maybe, you are parked at a CHARGER and plugged in... sometimes then folks will take notice, but even then, it rarely means that they actually come over and ask questions - we are all inquisitive, even when we notice a Rivian, or a new BMW ev, just like everyone else.
The same typical questions exits mouths of the uneducated - "what do you do when the battery dies??" "what will happen in coming years when the battery goes Dead??" "how LONG does it take to charge???" "why don't you just carry around a generator??" "why didn't Ford just put an alternator on it, so you could drive without EVER having to stop??"

all great questions.

Do you have any other ev’s or is this your first?
I've owned two 2014/2015 Nissan Leafs with about a realistic 60-65 mile range... my son at UAH north of Huntsville AL now drives the 2014, and loves it... these both gave us real expectations of charging, range, and how to charge EVs at home. I have no reservations about EVs of any sort or size or make, but LOVE this machine : )
