yes, until the public at large can feel comfortable just hopping into their EV and going anywhere anytime they wish, like they do now, they will not move into EVs. The infrastructure needs to be there. Tesla shows that to their potential customers by installing their OWN charging stations, usually 8-10 in one single location. This tells the public that THEY have more options with them. If you are 'another brand', you don't have that. Most folks have little knowledge about any 'EV' other than Tesla.
Until almost every gas station has a DC Fast Charger, it's probably going to take MANY MANY years to even approach 'mass appeal'.... unfortunately. I own 3 EVs, with one being a PHEV hybrid. There's a reason why.
