Hello Everyone,
I had put myself on the Lightning waiting list back in 2021. Figure it will be awhile until they get to my order but in the meantime I was hoping to do a test drive. Does anyone know of any dealerships in the Colorado area who are offering test drives? I have called a few dealerships in Denver but none of them seem to have them. In face the sales people usually try and dissuade you. They tell you no test drives, 30% markup on factory prices, 5 year waiting list, etc. Strikes me as total bull and they just don't want to deal with selling an electric vehicle.... All I want is a test drive...

All of the mannequins that were used as the test drive vehicles are starting to be saleable. Once they have had them for 6 months, they can sell them. Once those are all gone, test drives are going to be hard to manage. Some will not be saleable until January and February, but most dealerships in the Denver area probably got their mannequin vehicle pretty early.

I'd say try calling a dealership a bit further out from the city. They'll more likely still have a mannequin for test drives. Unless they're one of the dealers that keep it in the showroom and don't allow test drives, which is counter-productive to the mannequin program.

My dealer said they are so hard to get, they were not going to sell their mannequin until they can get another one so folks can test drive.

I did end up finding a Lighting Platinum for test drive at Freeway Ford in Denver. I think not a lot of sales people had dealt with it, but when I found a sales rep who was familiar with it he was like hop in lets go. It was a really great ride. A lot of acceleration!

If you can believe it, the Lariat ER is even faster due to weight advantage.
