The smack about Tesla is funny to read. There were a few issues along the way but I can assure you the tech and other things we've seen so far in this truck seem to be lacking. I'm hoping Ford does this right and stands behind it. However when you see Tesla grow, produce a few million cars, put the same hardware in all of them, make many major improvements along the way, innovate and push those innovations out to all past buyers, allow full computer upgrades to keep an older car current, that is some impressive stuff.

Then the first major thing we learn about our new 2022 Lightnings is that Ford couldn't get their new Android stack out the door so we will be unicorns with central computer systems that are only in 20K trucks or so for a single year. Ford has gone on record saying they won't have an upgrade path, well I hope they last a long time because we won't get any further development and then they have an issue in a few years you'll be lucky to get parts and maybe not even SW patches. The MachE guys say it is different, but if you want to go back to the sister forum this one was split from you'll also see that Ford can't even push SW out for over a year. Tesla pushes to almost the whole fleet at least once every 6 weeks or so. You don't have to decide when you might want to download it or when you want to be home. The download happens anytime it is connected to Wifi - the you simply press a button when you have 30 minutes.

I've driven Ford, I'm coming back for the Lightning. However you best at least keep your eyes open to know that Ford is following a leader here that has many strides on us already. Ford has entered a market and have not even taken baby steps with these technologies yet.

This was likely the best response to him -
Farley was slammed hard in the remaining replies for wanting to try and charge a Tesla, when his own network is so bad.

This also an interesting added tidbit - the yellow 14-30 to 14-50 adapter. I do appreciate they throw that in. Will definitely help fix any EV owner that has run a few miles short of juice.

I also did not have those extra adapters from a delivery on Friday. Actually disappointed, I thought they were included with all trucks. They did just enough to make a news article and look smart. Now to the back of the line again.
