I got a call from dealer last week that I could upgrade to a Lariat and get my order in this year, or wait until next year for my originally ordered truck. I told dealer I would not pay over sticker. They said no worries, that since I had a reservation it was already included in the sticker and would show as an additional charge. I decided to accept and go with the Lariat. After receiving the invite from Ford, I went ahead and built it. While checking out, there it was. $5k additional ADM. So, instead of checking out, I called the 800 number Ford provides. I explained to the gentleman my situation. He said that $5k ADM was a fair price. He also said that I could call around to see if someone wanted to sell it to me at MSRP, and then just call back to switch dealers. So I searched online and found markups.org, that listed what dealers were over charging and some that were selling for MSRP. Called one that was listed at $0, over MSRP. Told them my situation. They said they would charge me MSRP. Immediately called Ford back to switch dealers. The change was done instantly. I checked out on the order page with $0.00 dealer ADM. The dealer then sent me a Motor Vehicle Retail Order signed by them which I had to return signed as well. So if everything stays status quo, it looks like I lucked out. It seems this is a way of Ford punishing dealers who want to charge ADM. They put the power back in the consumer's hand, once they receive the invite. So my advice would be to accept the invite from any dealer to change your reservation into an order if you are ready. If they charge ADM, just switch dealers once you get the invite from Ford. Hope this helps at least one person, since I took a chance and had no idea. I'll keep you guys posted if anything changes. Fullerton Ford in NJ are the ones selling me at MSRP.

No need for a snooty response. This week is the first time I’ve come upon this forum. Don’t know how long this forum has been around for, but seems you are a member since January. So if it doesn’t help you that’s fine. Just keep it moving. I posted it since I finally got an invite, I just started looking into things. Having been following anything since I didn’t believe it was going to be possible to get one this year.

I'm no noob - been here 9 months - and it was absolutely NOT common knowledge that you could even move a reservation given to you by a dealer offering one of the last of the '22 Lariats. This is NEW news.

Saying newbies need to listen is snooty? I was pointing out this is good advice!

All orders at this point appear to be pushed out by dealers. I really don't see a difference to past ordering.... but this is a good confirmation nothing has changed.
