I was fiddling with all the settings to see what they all did, and it looks like the Speed Warning setting is one-way only... it defaults off, but once you turn it on, it can never be turned off. Similarly, the tolerance setting for it can't be set - it just snaps back to zero shortly after trying to set it. Repeated restarts of the vehicle and trying in accessory mode vs fully on, etc. didn't make any differences.

@Ford Motor Company - is there a way I can report bugs other than the "send feedback" button in Sync 4A? There's no way for me to use that and attach a video or any description of what's going on.

Anybody else got any hot tips besides "factory reset it and start from scratch"?

The online chat help was (unsurprisingly) completely unhelpful. I do have a case number now, and supposedly will hear something in "up to 3 business days."

Transcript attached for those of you who want to share in my pain.

MyKey isn't set. I checked that too, since there was a warning panel that popped up saying it was active at one point. But I didn't ever do it, and the UI agrees that it's never been done. Nothing but the best!

Well, they did reply but not in any useful way.

My name is Genevieve, I am from Ford`s Customer Relationship Center (CRC). We appreciate you being a loyal Ford customer.

I greatly appreciate your patience, Carl. I have received a response from our Subject Matter Expert regarding the current concern you are experiencing with adjusting your tolerance level and attempting to disable the Speed Limit Assist. I attached the video link you sent through our chat session to our SME as well for their review. Upon review, these settings must be changed while the feature is activated and in use. It will not allow you to disable or enable this feature while standing still. This applies to adjusting the tolerance level as well. Please note that the settings for the tolerance level are going to default back to zero with each use. Once the vehicle comes to a standstill or in the Park position it will revert automatically to zero. If you are still experiencing the same issue of the vehicle not allowing you to disable the Speed Limit Assist or Tolerance level while in use your next step would be to make an appointment with your servicing dealership to have your vehicle inspected and diagnosed. Your local Ford/Lincoln dealership has factory-trained technicians, the most current engineering service information, and the specialized equipment required to resolve your vehicle concerns.
Since I did in fact do this while driving as well as while stopped (except that the video I sent them was just while it was stopped), their "SME" appears to just be making stuff up. I cannot possibly imagine what a dealership could possibly do to diagnose anything like this.

I wouldn't be surprised if it were just a 4A thing. But their response is infuriating, since it indicates they both didn't try to or can't reproduce, and that they think they can ignore the problem instead of escalating further or even just filing a bug report with the software organization.

I'm still trying to figure out whether this is what the popup warning shown in your video means. Not that it makes sense if this is the intended behavior.

I just deleted my profile and set it back up again. It sucked, but it did work to get the setting disabled. I accidentally overwrote my memory seat settings while doing it, but that's the price of doing business sometimes, I guess. ;-)

In the Chat transcript, you are labeled as "Customer". Is that what you entered? If one can enter their name for Chat, maybe use "Customer is Always Right"? However, not sure if Ford Customer Service would be affected by that!

Great video! I have problems with the Speed Warning on mine as well, but different than yours. I can only get the setting to actually save if I select a value of 5mph or lower. If I select a higher value, it returns to the previously set value between 0 - 5. Annoying since I would like to set it at 10…
