Ok, so after watching yesterdays meeting, alot has been left desired. I work in live Production, good chance I know at least 1 person who was part of that production. And I have to say this, there was no charisma from anyone who spoke, not even Jim. Who was coaching theses people? Did they rehearse anything? Could they not discuss anything we didn't already know? As a strong Union supporter, who voted for these people? strong leadership needs strong charisma. I work a lot of meetings and see a lot of leaders speak and for a company as big as Ford, I would expect some top talent on the stage. Loyalty and legacies should be recognized and awarded, but if they are betting the company on this truck, then they need to up their public appearance. My 2 cents.

I agree with what came across as somewhat 'lackluster' celebration of the moment, and somewhat seeming of a 'hurried' decision about what 'exactly' would be happening - like, for instance, when the trucks rolled up to the stage, Jim got out, but then turned his back to the audience and strolled around the BACK of the truck, rather than coming to the front - then mentioning something about a 'joke', I assumed meaning from the driver who just brought him to the stage(?)...yes, it didn't seem 'pumped' up and celebratory as I was imagining - but, then again, if a power 'outage' had recently happened, I can see how that can seem to damper the enthusiasm, somewhat...
My two cents: talk more about the TRUCK, than talking about 'how' it came about, 'who' is building it, and all that. Save the congrats for the 'team' to a team meeting - the rest of us want to know about the TRUCK! I give them their kudos, ok, but I thought this 'national' 'major' 'celebration' 'announcement' thingy was to get the REST OF US excited. Hmmmmmm.

I was excited and found it cool. Could there have been more about the vehicle? Yea but I feel like you'd get that if you were there. It seems like there are a lot more going on for those on site. The presentation last year was to get you excited and ordering. They are sold out, how much more did they really need to do.

But I did learn more, mostly superficial, stuff from side interviews though. Like the L4 charger they use at the end of the production line.

I'll admit I found it also very lackluster and a lack of info. The last thing I want to see is the UAW on stage.

Here is the question I have and shows just how much I didn't pay attention - did we get "OK to Buy". That is what most were expecting, but truly I never heard.

Did you want them to toss a cannonball at one of the trucks?

Farley said they were going to start shipping trucks to dealers within days of the event. I doubt they would do that if they didn't have - or were very close to - Okay to Buy. After all, if there was a chance something would hold-up the Okay to Buy designation, that could mean shipping many of those trucks all the way back to the factory for corrections.

Maybe Pro is being flagged with something like "OK to Distribute" not put in to use yet. If they are just going places to be rigged or for graphics they are not rolling around and on the streets for a bit. Just a thought.
