Hi everyone - new 2022 Ford Lightning Lariat ER owner here. I’ve been reading this site for a while but just got my truck a few weeks ago. I’d read that there was a new update available and sure enough - here it is.

However, I’m unable to get this download started. I’ve been connected to wifi the last 2 nights and I (believe) have automatic updates on.

Nonetheless I can’t find anywhere to turn off automatic updates and update manually. This screen is the only thing I get when I click on updates. Scroll to the bottom, and there’s nothing more.

Am I missing something? Will this update happen overnight some random night? Just want to make sure I know how to do these updates and am not missing something simple. Any help is appreciated!

There are other threads on this issue. Your 12v battery may be a bit low when the update tries to run. Set an automatic update time for some time you will be up such as 9:00 pm, then drive the truck at around 8:30 pm to make sure the 12v battery is up and ready for the update.

Appreciate your response - unfortunately I do not have an option to change the automatic update time - the only screen I get is the one in the original post & my app does not allow me to change any update settings either.

I bought a 22 that sat at dealer for months. The last download “expired” and wasn’t installed. OEM bell line basically said nothing they can do that it will come randomly or next time there’s a new one it may force both.

That’s super inconvenient. Sorry to hear that. So this update will just happen randomly over time?

I called Ford's Over-The-Air update number, not sure where I got it along the way of trying to get updated, but it's 1-833-926-3233. I've called before and they just tell you to take it to the dealer. My dealer always just gave some bs answer like "yeah, Ford is having issues with the app, just wait longer". Total blow-off answer. So I called again and flat out said I'm not doing any remedial troubleshooting, my dealer is zero help, I need to escalate this somehow because I'm missing features and bug fixes. She told me to have the dealership open a "Hotline request with TAC". I sent those magic words to my salesman and he confirmed that they'd do it. The next day I had an the 3.5.5 waiting in the truck for the first time, before I only had a notification in the Fordpass app. Oddly enough, the salesman called later in the day and said they heard back from the hotline request and they told him there were no updates available. Anyway, updated 3.5.5 successfully, now, the next thing is that the update installed on Friday but I still see the "Update Sucessful - Check out What's New". Not sure how to acknowledge that so the next update can roll in.

Awesome reply. Thank you. Do you suggest calling the number or calling the dealer with the Hotline request with TAC right away?

Super frustrating, the update has been on my screen for 6 days with no way to get it installed.

Yep, called dealership, I think they have to initiate it. Looks like Ford also chimed in here so hopefully you'll get some results. Also I've since successfully received and installed 22-PU1009-MIL-DTE. Awaiting 4.x now.
