Reservations stopped last summer, when Ford realized they'd have a hard time building all those potential orders.
ORDERS stopped this spring for anything 2022, to be built sometime before maybe October when they start building 2023s.
The only 'Order Banks' that opened up were for those who ALREADY had an invite to order a 2022 model, but the trim level, such as Pro or XLT, was already sold out. Those folks may have chosen to 'defer' their choice until Ford announced the 2023 models and pricing.
2023 Wave 1 order invites, only to those with previous order invites, could order anything, even a PRO.
Wave 2 order invites, only to those with previous order invites, could order anything, even a PRO, IF the Pro was still available... they were not. The Wave 2 orders for PROs are ALREADY sold out, again, for 2023. These also are not reported to even be BUILT until LATE 2023. That's a YEAR from now.
2023 Wave 3 order invites, only to those with EXISTING Reservations, probably most still from back on May 19th/20th of 2021, will have the option of Ordering a 2023 model, but ONLY the trims that have not already sold out...so, certainly the PRO is off the table, and the XLT may even be gone by the time some make up their minds.
It's not a pretty system, but Ford has designed it in a way that works for them, to control orders and trim levels and commodities that are required to meet those orders, etc. Commonidity and chip constraints and not helping. Much of that they cannot control.
They have also designed it to create a 'flow' of orders, over time, for many lucky future owners.
I waited over 15 months from Reservation, to Order, to Built, to RECEIVED..on August 23rd. Many will have to wait even longer. I was one of the lucky first, but, even having said that, it was EXTREMELY frustrating and you must have a LOT of patience, no doubt.
