It is better than not having - that's what I keep saying. I called over to Ford Marketing today and they submitted a ticket to see why it's stalled out. I'd imagine it's an anomaly and not the norm.At what point do we get a 2023? lol it's almost not worth it now to get a 2022.
That's for vehicles lacking components though. After that it's just mismanagement or forecasting. I'm not upset about delays in the SC, I'm upset about crap forecasting.Your not alone, Ford made this delay public yesterday.
I am having the exact same issue here in Denver. My dealer called me on 09/14 to let me know my truck had arrived at the rail yard 2 miles from the dealership, and was prepping me for Delivery. The next week I got the dreaded delivery delay email from Ford. Now it is almost a month later and still no truck and Ford corporate and my dealer cannot tell me anything about where my truck is, just the "estimated" delivery date which is now set for next week. Fingers crossed that it shows up next week and I don't get another delivery update email!Nope, every tuesday I get another email. Last week it was this "Your vehicle’s previous estimated delivery range of September 4, 2022, and September 10, 2022, has been updated to between September 20, 2022, and September 26, 2022. "
I called Ford marketing and they said it has arrived in Salt Lake City (nearest large city), and that it should be at my dealer by the 20th at the latest. I called the dealer to let them know because i was super stoked and they just argued with me saying that 'Ford marketing has no idea what they are talking about, it's still in Roper"
I really really dislike the dealer, I wish I could still change dealerships because I would in a heartbeat.
Did you get an XLT with the tow pack + tow tech pack? I called my dealer again and they said that it is actually in salt lake (nearby) and that ford has put a stop sale on it. They wont give up any more information on what the stop sale is or if there is a recall or anything. Ford (when I call them) says everything is fine and that I should get it within a week. I am wondering if it is related to the PWMs that were bad in the mach-e or just specifically something with the tow tech package.I am having the exact same issue here in Denver. This isn't really relevant since mine has been 4 miles from the dealer since July. It was built in late may/early june. 4 months ago. It has been sitting in the rail lot for 4 months to go 4 miles - That + lack of info from ford or the dealer is what im mad about.Yes, supply chain issues all over, and the recent threat of the rail strike didn’t help. I would think that car shipments take a lower priority to other freight such as food. People all over the logisticsworld are busting their rears. For what it’s with, here are my key dates: Arrived at dealer: 10/7 (Santa Clara, Ca) Photo email received 9/22 (photo dated 9/3) Shipped email notification: 9/14 Builnotification email 9/11 Build start notification 7/29 for week of 8/22 So, assuming the build started on 8/22 and the 9/3 photo was it really rolling off the assembly line: It took 13 days to build It shipped 9 days later It to 23 days to go from Dearborn to Santa Clara I have an appt to pick my truck up on Monday since I’m out of town.
I got the Lariat with the Tow Pack + Tow Tech Pack. All they will tell me is that it is on quality hold. Absolutely 0 additional details.Did you get an XLT with the tow pack + tow tech pack? This is critical information. It sounds like Ford has identified something that has them concerned about your vehicle and so they have placed it on a quality hold. That probably means they are testing some models with a component like yours to determine if there is an issue that needs to be resolved before delivery to the customer (you), or they have identified a part that needs replacing (hardware or software). This is usually done at the dealership. Ford or the dealer may be choosing to hold it at the rail yard rather than take up space at the dealership while the issue awaits resolution. They won't tell me a single thing other than it is on a quality hold.

I agree with you 100%.Thanks for your thoughts ChasingCoral.
Unfortunately the problem is communication and an action plan. While what you are describing sounds plausible, it's all still conjecture. If Ford would communicate what is going on and the steps they are taking to resolve it, conjecture would not be needed. Leaving customers guessing by not proactively providing information is bad, bad business. Completely blowing off your customer when they call on their own to get information, pointing at the dealership, and then the dealership pointing back at Ford, is even worse business.
I've been waiting 2 months now for any information after my truck's arrival. If httpster is any indication, it looks like I could be waiting several more months with absolutely no guidance from Ford. In the US, for most people, life does revolve around a vehicle and busy schedules, so 2 months of waiting with no commitment to final delivery is very frustrating. 7 months so far if you include my order date...18 months if you include my reservation date.
I just visited your website. We have EXACTLY the same issues, responses from Ford Corporate, and responses from our dealerships and their corresponding "regional representatives".I agree with you 100%.
I just want communication about what is going on, and how they are going to resolve it.
I am going on 4 months with no information from Ford or the dealer.
I made a website that I am going to start sending to Ford and new outlets until I get some actual information. Where's My Lightning (warning the URL has the F word in it haha, I was fired up)
I have never owned a Ford previously. There was an F150 powerboost available at my dealer, so I bought that in late august or early september. I regret supporting this company. My wife wanted a bronco, but there is no way in hell I would go through this again.
Overall my brand perception of Ford has shifted from "Love the lightning and Ford" to "Ford is not even considered in my next car purchase"
I will keep you updated as I have updates. I think we have maybe narrowed it down to the tow tech pack. Would be nice if Ford could give us an update. If they do contact me I will post it here as well.I just visited your website. This is probably the most frustrating experience I have ever been through, where no one cares and no one wants to take ownership between Ford and the local dealer. It is laughable at this point. Ford better step the hell up and provide customer service soon. The tight-lipped, pass-the-buck responses lead me to believe there is something very devastating going on with our particular truck configurations and they don't want to say anything that is going to open them up to a class-action lawsuit.
I see that you have a NEW estimated delivery date ending this Saturday. Keep making updates to your website (and here). I will be curious if they delay your delivery yet again. So far you and I are the only two I have heard of that have had this exact same extended delay, but I would venture to guess there are many more, and that maybe it has to do with the Tow Tech Package, because other than that, the only other modifications I made to my Lariat are the all-terrain tires and the extended range battery.
So I saw on your website that your delivery week came and went again, only to get another call from the dealer about another delay. Ay ya ya. This is crazy.I will keep you updated as I have updates. I'm going to be posting a link on the site back to this thread as well, so they can see it's not just me.
Usually Ford updates me with an email, the tuesday after the date has come and gone.Generally at 6pm Mountain time, we'll see what tomorrow brings. So I saw on your website that your delivery week came and went again, only to get another call from the dealer about another delay. I'm reaching out to local news it's just been a slow process, hoping to get some steam so that we can get some answers!

I've also considered contacting my local news station. Putting both the dealership and Ford on blast might be the only way for anyone to care.
Well, something miraculous just happened. My my dealer called and my truck is finally in! Just wanted to update you, not to make you feel bad, but in hopes that maybe whatever hold they had on our vehicles is resolved. Hoping you get yours soon, too!
