I have the start of similar issues, though certainly not as bad. Just got back from a 1,500 mile trip and there were some folds in those middle sections of the bottom cushion that were stating to show well before the trip and now certainly coming through more. It is a weird feeling vs. seats in comparable vehicles. Like they point out, the material isn't tight to the cushion (no glue?) which allows for the wear.

Seems they went way cheap on the leather in these trucks.

Could it be ventilated seats?

I've never had them, except in a Taurus rental several years ago.

My lariat is doing the same thing on the driver side, probably less than Claviska‘s picture shows and less than TFL’s but I started noticing mine within the first couple weeks of owning the truck and now I have 3800 miles on it since mid June

Yikes, had hoped that the TFL truck was just an anomaly, but appears this is just a result of the quality of material Ford is using on the Lariat trim. To be showing any visible wear within less than 10,000 miles isn't a good look for Ford and an $80,000 (now close to $90,000) vehicle. I've sold many vehicles with 35,000 miles that the seats still looked nearly new. These trucks are just a few months old. Hopefully, if this is a widespread issue for the Lariat trim, enough customers will complain and Ford will offer some type of resolution?

I’m approaching 4000 miles and see similar wear, especially on the side bolsters near the door. I have to consciously be careful to step on the side rail or I end up sort of sliding off the seat with all my weight when I get out (even at 6’ tall). I’m afraid eventually that edge seam is going to tear.

It looks like these aren’t going to hold up nearly as well as the black leather seats in my 2011 FX4. After 11 years of use the leather was worn in but the cushions we fully intact and comfortable.

I was thinking the same thing with the side bolsters on the seat, so I've been conscious to step on the side rail instead of sliding out.

Have you thought of getting a seat cover?

Once you get used to those air-conditioned seats, it's hard to give them up. Maybe there's a seat cover for that?I think the particular upholstery seams and cover material over the ventilated seat area may be part of the problem. Mine was looking dicey after only a couple of days.

That's true, those a/c seats are great.

Wonder if using some type of conditioner would help.
