So, can't get an answer from Ford. The company I work for is leasing x20 2023 Ford Lightning early next year. Two glaringly obvious questions since I work with children...

1) Is it possible to program AFTER ordering a max speed? (No, the people that ordered them thought it was a swell idea to NOT order them with option codes 41Z, 41Y, or 41)

2) Is it possible to program AFTER ordering the rate of acceleration?

MyKey would be a good option as you can program either max speed or speed reminders:

Speed Limit
You can set a speed limit for your vehicle. Warning messages appear on the touchscreen and a tone sounds if your vehicle reaches the set speed. You cannot override the set speed when using a MyKey.

Speed Minder
You can set a speed reminder for your vehicle. Warning messages appear on the touchscreen and a tone sounds if your vehicle exceeds the set speed.

So you need to order it with MyKey as an option I am gathering. Can it be added on through one of the dealerships after receipt of the vehicle? Sorry, this is all new to me. The program directors are concerned (rightfully so) that some of the younger new hires may start hotrodding these things around town.

MyKey is a standard feature. You would program a MyKey after the truck arrives and it is tied to particular key fobs.

MyKey starts on p76 of the manual.

I wonder if orders like yours are the clean out of Lightning PRO vehicles so that private customers have no availability. I reserved on June 13, 2021 and most recently was notified that I might get an order for an XLT, out of my price range. FORD has certainly turned many noses of good customers, not millionaires.

You can program a speed limit, but there’s nothing better than max acceleration from a start 😂😂😂😂
