How is Ford adjusting the 2023 price for folks that were supposed to get a 2022?
In what manner? What do you mean and have that says you were supposed to get a '22? Did they push your build? or have you not been selected to order yet?

We ordered February 2022, and were supposed to be in Wave 3 for a 2022. Now our order has been pushed into waiting for a 2023. We are curious what the pricing has been for people in a similar situation to ours.

If you were invited to order a 2022 but you deferred because they were sold out of Pro / XLT, I think they were holding the 2022 price for 2023s. But those guys were invited wave 1/2 in august. I thou gf those cleared out and are now onto the new invites for 2023, and that has the price increase. Also, they aren’t extending your invites any more. And are sold out of Pro for 2023.

LOL, I just got my an invite from Ford with my original reservation # (I reserved on launch day)... surprise surprise, I can't order the PRO (which is what I wanted originally), XLT is also not an option for online ordering. That leaves only the Lariat for the lowest MSRP... which is beyond what I'm willing to spend on an EV pickup truck. Should I try to configure a Lariat anyway, and by the time it's ready... I can just decide NOT to pick it up right? I mean, no money is involved anyway... my $100 deposit was already refunded to me a few months ago when I changed Ford dealerships from one who charged a markup to another one who doesn't.

so I called Ford Corporate and they said to call the Ford Dealership that is linked to my reservation... supposedly, I could tell them about what my intention is (to wait for the lower trim models). The website specifies that I only have till Nov 11 to place an order... so if I don't (by then), my reservation still holds till the PRO or XLT becomes available?

I think you can simply not order and wait for the wave where xlt returns. Don’t defer, just don’t order. Pro dfor 2023 is gone, but xlt is coming back later. B
You need to watch the video in this thread:

XLT may be an option yet.

Look at "Lots of Information of MY 2023 Ordering" on this forum. On the bar graph it says "All unconverted reservation holders from previous 23MY Waves will continue to be able to order when each subsequent wave opens through available 23MY ordering." It also shows on the graph that August 23, 2023 is the date for "All Unconverted Reservation Cancelled".

Good luck, we are still waiting for notification that our 2022 Lariat order, converted to 2023 Lariat order has been rolled off the line, shipped, or any other sign of life!! We are trying to get pricing information from others that are in a similar situation, but nobody has supplied anything so I guess no 2023's from 2022 orders have been received.

I received my invite to order my lightning today. As we all know the XLT is currently not available and that is what I want. Will I received an email from Ford telling me when the XLT is available to order?

thank you both for the informative response... Fordvideoguy's explanation is very helpful! Guess I'll hold off on ordering on this wave and wait for the next. It's a bummer that I didn't get an invite in previous waves for the PRO trim, but the XLT isn't too far off my budget so I might settle for that. I'm not desperate to get a Lightning, & if Ford decides to cater mostly to Lariat+ customers, then I'm gonna look at other brands/options =)

My truck is scheduled to build next Monday 12/19. I’m curious (and didn’t a mention of this) if the $500 charge for the mobile power cord should be credited along with the $6500 credit for my XLT. Or it’s $6500 and that’s it

Three types of orders got model year price protection. People who had a 22 order placed and got pushed to 23, people who had a chance to order a 22 but extended their reservation because the pro or xlt were not available. It sounds like you are the first case. If so there will be a private offer from ford tied to your account. The dealer will pull it up when your truck arrives.

You extended reservation back in April for an XLT? Either way you won’t get the $500 off for the mobile charger. Even though it was free for 2022s it is not being price protected.

Damn…. Yea, I extended in April. My dealer added (and I somewhat regrettably) accepted a $3000 protection package. It includes ceramic coating and interior protection with a 7 year warranty, one free key replacement, nitrogen filled tires and window etching. I was hoping I could offset the $3k by pushing them to give me the charger cord. Oh well. My friend just got a Tundra and had to get a $4k package. So I guess it’s not all bad.

That is a complete rip-off. I would be pissed. Warranty always have 60 day cancel clause for 100% refund If you don’t file a claim. My dealer offered me all that crap but I declined

I have a 2020 Lariat that I had ceramic coated. Also in Iconic Silver, like my XLT will be. The ceramic coating was a one year warranty and cost $400. It was well worth it I thought. I think of it like wax on steroids. It shines longer and cleans easier. Obviously long warranty coatings are quite a bit more. And since I’m getting cloth seats and have two young kids I want the seats scotch guarded or whatever they use to make them a little more stain resistant. I don’t object to the services all that much. I would do them all on my own anyway. And I know I could spend less doing later on, on my own. Actually, I definitely wouldn’t opt for a 7 year ceramic coating on my own later on. That’s too much out of pocket. Hence I did a one year for $400. So wrapping the cost in maybe isn’t so bad.

We reserved on launch day, ordered a 2022 for $3K in January of 2022 and were contacted in August 2022 to say we have to sign a new order for a 2023 for $10,700 Canadian more. Our dealer and Ford Canada both say there is no price protection even though Ford announced existing order holders would not be affected by the price increase. We got the truck two weeks ago (a Lariat) and we had to pay the $10,700. I have our dealer talking to Ford Canada, but it looks like Ford is just full of s... at least in Canada that existing order holders aren't impacted. I feel lied to, but decided to take it anyway.
