Working through some questions with my dealer but looking for any real world experience with the tax credit.

Had a reservation from day 1. Finally allowed Me to order this week. Truck price was $89600. Being told the price protection will be given as a rebate $8500. That would bring it down to $81k.Tax credit cuts off at $80k. I could chop off options to get under $80k but not sure if they wiIl go based on original MSRP or the after $8500 rebate price.

Basically, if you want the tax credit at this point you either cannot order any of the ER versions, or you have to hope you get it before the end of the year and then your credit could count under the existing (2022) tax credit, but would probably only net you about $3,750.

Ford is now an acronym for Forgive our Outrageous Re-pricing and Delays.

Not 100% sure but I think the MSRP listed is going to be the $89600, your price protection will come off in the deal like a manufacturer rebate.

I just called Ford today, and there will be NO price protection, the only protection they will offer is from the date of actual order acceptance, so if you are a early reservation holder that has been waiting forever for the Ford email to order your truck, you're screwed double if you want a Lariat ER, because the new price increase on the Lariat ER pushes you outside of the EV tax credit window, so no tax credit + a higher price. I'm thinking of walking away from my order...

The only way I found to get the tax credit on an ER Lightning was to find a 2022 mannequin . The IRS tax credit is based on the sticker MSRP, without destination/shipping charge.

I personally believe that once sales really slow down, and supply chain is improved, Ford is likely to reduce the MSRP at least to the point you can configure an ER XLT Lightning at an MSRP under 80K.
