The 4.x software updates should begin rolling out.

I'd love to tell you more but that's all I know. Speculate away!

I have tried several times to get the most recent update available on my truck to install with no success. All the parameters are met for the update to install, I’ve tried update now and about 5 or 6 nights of 3AM scheduled updates but the update never installs.

Try moving your schedule earlier (like 10:00 pm), drive it right before that and leave it plugged in. It may be a 12v battery issue.

yep! My last upgrade came in October, right before we got hit with low temps…

me think my next upgrade will only happen when it warms up again…the truck must have some sort of protection to preserve the battery.

4.1.2 is HERE. Just installed about an hour ago and several before me. I give it to Ford, I didn't think they could make improvements. Dedicated camera button at the top of 4a, major improvement to the seat heater control (the slider is gone) several adjustments can not be controlled by the dial.

Overall - a single menu now, no more Settings and Controls. The greyed out "Audio" button is now gone.

New Dedicated soft button at the top for Camera's. Well done.

Very nice improvements indeed.

expand...
Just got done playing with it in the driveway. I also really like the changes. Well thought out and looks much more organized. I like all the Controls and Settings on one page.

Using the Volume knob for multiple functions makes sense and is safer to use while driving than all the touch & slide. Good job by the Ford team.

P.S. Didn't mess up my FORscan coding. Still have the Glare Free headlights and remote up/down windows, etc.

4.1.2 looks great and I’m looking forward to it eventually pushing my way. But I’m not giddy about it just yet. Part of me is happy because it shows Ford can listen to us and make the changes that matter for user experience - that they may actually be taking PowerUps seriously. But, part of me thinks many of these changes should’ve been the baseline UI from the start. Now keep iterating and I’ll be impressed.

Updates are great but isn’t the scheduling supposed to mean something? We pulled out of the last of todays 3 charging sessions and Sherman’s Sync 4a screen went blank and restarted twice while driving and this came up:

4.1.2 will be a quick learning curve.

Ford advertised a couple of years ago how these autos would update on the fly while driving ! It doesn't seem this one needs anything to be shut down, but I am also surprised it would reboot the screen on you while driving.

In my short time playing with it I only ever had 3 icons at the top, I see you have CarPlay and Alexa. I do know in the Alexa conversation a few days back, I've always had that one turned off, but I'm usually running CarPlay - just no icon. I don't think I need it, but just notice the difference in what you have up. Maybe some last used icons stick there?
