Pardon my ignorance, I have never owned a dashcam but plan to buy something whenever I manage to get the Lightning.

Q: Many (most) dashcam seem to record to a memory card. Some seem cloud based? In either case, is it possible to play back the data from your dashcam on the internal Lightning tablet display?

Thanks!

It is totally possible, just use a Magic Box type product like CarLinKit to run the dash cam's software. Also watching Netflix and other streaming services while driving is a must in my family. So I got this first day.

This is the one I'm using right now in my XLT SR 12" Screen:

I bought the new slimmer new one, but there is a resolution issue of some kind and I couldn't git it to work, so I swapped my wife's older one. The older one actually has better hardware specs.

Oh that's funky. Since you carplay to it and not to the actualy in-car stuff, do the voice control buttons work, etc?
Yes, voice commands still work from the steering wheel. I can't get anything like netflix or disney+ to respond to the commands directly. This like, navigate to.... and HVAC voice controls work, but not control of the video or video apps.

Absolutely Yes. Get "Ford Play" from App store. and follow the wizard. Works like a charm - Just for clarity video on your iphone will be displayed on Ford screen.
Cool. Just how does that work. Does it work for both the Sync 4 and Sync 4A screens?
