I’m a bit disappointed in the camera/image quality on my Lightning. I know it may sound “first world problem” to say because it’s cool tech, and impressive that we have it. I’m disappointed however because in comparison to a 2018 Raptor, and a 21 Bronco badlands lux… I never felt that way in regards to their image, provided to me daily and delivered by Ford! The Raptor, one could argue that the screen resolution was lesser and i would agree, but the image was cleaner. More focal range at every view, front rear, mirrors…The Bronco was even more impressive!

Seeing the huge iPad in the F150L, I just assumed it too would be crystal clear. Nope. So much, on day 2 I even ran my fingernail on numerous lenses thinking I might find a thin clear protector film that my dealer missed prior to delivery, Nope. And it’s not just one camera. All the edges fall off badly in any depth as like a low aperture / F stop… Blurry not too unlike the background on your iPhone in portrait mode (not THAT aggressive but for context)

anyone else finding the same?

Seems like the other obvious thing is the larger screen size. If a similar camera were used on a larger screen the image would look increasingly blurred. HD camera would be nice at that price point but maybe not feasible.
I think this is the issue. Our old Ram had the portrait screen. The 360 camera view looked sharper on the Ram because the image was squished down into a tiny part of the screen, not because the camera was higher quality.

I get it. But that also disappoints me. For $82k and a “new tech “ show off vehicle… I expected more, like I had seen on my newer Ford vehicles. I hope they improve that. There is now even cool zoom buttons on the 360 to look at the corners. You press the + and irlt just makes the blurred pixels even larger. Missed opportunity here

This isn’t it. I had the 302a package with Sync 4 and 12-inch touchscreen in the 2021 and the width is about the same as the Lightning Display in Portrait mode. That means the backup camera is about the same physical size in the Lightning as it is in the 2021.

It’s also not a screen resolution issue, as the user interface elements are just as sharp.

I work with cameras, definitely seems like lower quality optics to me. The all-around view in the 2021 XLT also seems of superior quality. Honestly these lower quality cameras are the only disappointment so far that gets daily use.

Are these cameras for real?! Is there a way to submit a formal complaint. In surfing YouTube it appears that the image quality is SIGNIFICANTLY better than what’s in my truck. It’s so bad it looks like I’m using a Motorola razr to see around me. My Tesla M3 has similar form factor for the screen, so that doesn’t seem to be the issue.
