During the Lightning's production event the other day Jim Farley hinted that another electric truck is going to be built at Ford's Blue Oval complex.

The question is, which truck should it be next? The Maverick, Ranger, or Super Duty? My guess is the Maverick but I think it could work for the other trucks too.

Vote in the poll below and let's see what everyone thinks.

I really want to see a Ford Explorer in full EV trim with at least 300+ miles in range.
Agreed! Jim's comments about Super Duty means they aren't doing that down in TN unless he was just lying cause they aren't ready to announce. BUT I'm thinking something that is the size of the Ranger that overlaps the maverick. What they did with the F-100, that mach E size is a ranger. I think it is going to be smaller to maximize the amount of batteries they can make with available material. Too big of a pack and not much quantity. Though maybe a commercial truck?

I figure we might see one of the smaller trucks, then they will go after one of the mid-size SUV's. I figure the Superduty is 10 years down the road. That is a harder group/market to convince of the EV movement and battery capabilities have to get to pulling capabilities of 400 or more miles a day and much better charging capabilities than Ford has access to today.

Good point about the super duty buyers. They do tend to use their trucks for towing etc. and will be last to convert to an EV. A Ranger with a 5.5 foot or bigger bed would be my dream truck.

While the headline makes it clear that MotorBiscuit thinks the next truck will be an electric ranger, reading the details of this article makes it clear that this is still speculation -- albeit informed speculation.
