Owners- I need your help! Since delivery, my interior lighting does not work. 😭 I’d like to know what I should be seeing, so that I can confirm that the dealer has resolved the issue correctly. Besides the obvious overhead/map lights, etc. what else should be lighting up (cup holders, inside the center console, foot wells, etc)??

Btw, this is not related to the “auto” switch that turns on the lights when a door opens. My problem extends to the lights inside the visor mirror, the Homelink garage opener, and more.

Can you please post pics of what should be happening during entry/exit as well as when the truck and headlights are on (like what you would see while driving)?

Did you turn on Ambient lighting in the settings?
This is for Lariat SR Trim - 510A

Yes, Ambient Lighting is “ON”. With that ON, the only thing that I see is on the doors: window button, locks, etc are backlight as well as light around the door handle and below the handle in the door pocket. Hard to make out in this photo, but hopefully this helps explain.

But I don’t know what I should be seeing, so I’m not sure what I’m missing. That’s where I need the help from this great community. I’ve see other posts with lighted cup holders and outlines around the shifter, but I think those are after-market? What about inside the cavernous dark black cave of a center console? Shouldn’t there be a light in there?

Again, even with Ambient=ON and doors=AUTO…. I still have no visor mirror lights, no Homelink garage opener, no overhead map lights in front/back… and probably other stuff that I don’t even know about.

Dealer diagnosis is faulty Body Control Module (BCM) from factory. They already tried one replacement and couldn’t get it working (even with assistance from a Ford Field Service Engineer onsite and escalation to the Tech Team). Waiting for second replacement BCM. Suspicious.

Please help shed some light 😂 on this topic by uploading your pics, video, and comments of how the interior should look at night.

Did you include the first image as an example? It's not a Lightning, AFAIK.

There is a dim light inside the center console. But you wouldn't know it if you weren't looking for it in complete darkness. The ambient lighting is the dimmest of any vehicle I have ever seen that has it. I think ambient cupholder lighting was a pre-build de-contenting casualty. It only comes in one color, ice blue, or something like that. There are aftermarket or 2021 parts that others used to re-light the cupholders by the shifter.

Yes, that cupholder pic is just an example. Wondering if I should be seeing something similar (but I know there are a lot of after-markets kits for this). I can live without the console lights but it’s very frustrating not being able to see anything when the family is entering/exiting the truck, and also not having use of the Homelink garage opener.

Maybe they're blinded by all the damn lights on the outside of the truck...just kidding. If that's your door, I think you have the same ambient lighting supplied on my truck. It ain't great, I leave the brightness all the way up. Ford may have been thinking the running board and puddle lights would replace functional ambient lighting for ingress/egress. The overhead lights do fair, not great. I think your problem is module control or power supplied to the accessories actually in the visor, etc.

I have the same question ... I bought the LED Lariat cupholder lights form F150LED lights. They look great. I would love to get some floor lighting like what you showed in your picture. If you find some that work and you like please post.
