Hey guys I am coming from a 2018 Ford Raptor to a 2022 Lightning Platinum. I know this is a stupid problem but there is a sewn-in detail on the cover of the console that says platinum and it catches my elbow and it is rough. I don't know but I don't like it? Am I alone in this?

I saw they make some 3rd party console covers - I am considering buying one but I am afraid it will look just terrible. Any thoughts?

Can’t help with your questions but would love to hear your impression of having owned both a Raptor and Lightning

I had less than 10k miles on the raptor. Despite being ana off roader I thought the truck ran exceptionally smooth, soaked up all the bumps and I already miss it. The lightning is good - I want Sport to be the default mode (we have a model y and the "chill mode is like normal). I am annoyed it asks me each time "do you want to stay in sport mode" every time I start the car. Also I don't like having to "start" and "stop" the car with a button. again on the tesla get in get out and that's it!

How would you compare the ride quality on road between them? Does the Raptor take the bumps and rough surfaces better or did it communicate more?

Yes I would say I was very comfortable in the Raptor - it was not like driving a rough-riding truck. Speed bumps aren't even felt in the Raptor. I was very comfortable in that truck and will miss it. I like the lightning - its smooth running on smooth road (which isn't common in my neck of the woods). The raptor was getting a little older and the engine did have some issues that Ford was aware of and made adjustments in the valve timing I believe. When starting it sounded like a diesel. Both are great trucks and highly recommended.

I had an ICE 2020 Platinum and I absolutely HATED that center console for the same reason. I never got a cover, j just stopped putting my arm on it. Best of luck and happy to hear nothing has changed lol

Check out car console covers (all one word) on Etsy. I have two of their covers - one for the F150 and one for my Ram. The fit on the F150 version is fantastic. The Ram has the same annoying logo issue, but the cover does a nice job of providing a little cushion. Also nice that it is washable so you don’t have to be as concerned about dirt or a fast food bad resting on the leather. Really good customer service too.
