I find it odd so many people are compelled to pose with the truck with their arms extended wide. 😳

I wonder 🤔 if I'll have that urge whenever I take delivery.
In that first video they are mimicking Doug, he (Doug) doesn't extend up like they are doing but that's what they are saying in the first video "they can't do doug". Even Backroad Driver said "quirks and features" in their Lightning video.

Here's the video of his test.

Does this video help you confirm you wanting of a lightning or make you question it? In the video he goes 260 miles on a full charge at highway speeds. I can't remember the EPA range but I think it was over 330. So because the vehicle is still in a f150 truck shape, and using some a/c and probably some electronics, you only get 20 miles out of 330? I had a hard time coming to grips with this for the Tesla model Y who's range is like 350 but in reality they only get like 290 actual miles, and many factors go into this. Of course being a big guy a 6'6 I'd still love to get the Lightning, but if I get the smaller battery or extended range what am I supposed to expect, 200 usable miles out of 250?

What are you toughts?

The EPA numbers for all Highway driving is 267. He was only 7 miles off. That's a Platinum model and isn't rated for 330 combined.

Oh I thought he had a long range, well then that makes a HUGE difference. THanks.

Platinum's max combined is 300 miles. Platinum only comes as an ER.

Highway Range:

  • Standard Range (all trims): 201.6 mi (324.4 km)
  • Extended Range (all trims, except of Platinum): 283.1 mi (455.5 km)
  • Platinum trim: 267.6 mi (430.6 km)

City Range:

  • Standard Range (all trims): 253.2 mi (407.4 km)
  • Extended Range (all trims, except of Platinum): 350.2 mi (563.5 km)
  • Platinum trim: 326.5 mi (525.3 km)

Platinum has always been an extended range with less range than lariat extended range. Both use same ER battery. In the video he explains this is due to larger wheels on Platinum.

But yes. The effective range is disappointing none the less. Have to look at this mostly as a local in town vehicle.

I'm glad they were able to do an efficiency test with the R1T. They got 1.9 miles per kWh in the Lightning and 2.15 miles per kWh in the R1T. But even thought they travelled the same distance the trip computers in both trucks were a little off for some reason. Still pretty close.

When they charged the Lightning was receiving 73.3 kW of power from the charger while the R1T was receiving 83 kW

Another new video.

35 minutes isn't as bad as before. This is the one video I don't like from them cause it seems unedited and a lot of rambling.
