Order to build date

1475 Views 37 Replies 17 Participants Last post by  2023 Azure Gray Lariat
It’s been four months (1/20/23) since I placed my lightning order and I’ve heard nothing from Ford until yesterday. Their email stated they’re sorry but supply chain issues are causing delays, still no eta.
So I’m curious as to what others are / have experienced. Anyone else in this boat? And for those owners, what was your order to build time?
As a side note, it baffles me that ford has opened order banks to all while having these issues.

I placed the order March 31, 2023 and just got the same email on May 16. Hmmmm.

I was told by my dealer a couple of weeks ago there were “commodity” issues on my Lariat ER order placed on the same date.

same boat, waiting , Start rowing Ford ! It’s 2 years next month :(
I ordered my platinum mid November and still no updates other than the same email you got from Ford
Is there anyone on this Forum who knows where people waiting on Production Dates and can get some "real" information" if Ford says there are no constraints on your order by send you a supply chain delay email
Appreciate it all
I ordered a Lariat in November. In Janurary I recived a build date of the first week of Feburary. Still shows that build date as of today, May 18th. Nothing other than the email saying it was delayed with a chip shortage for the fire and the email last week for material shortages.

My Lariat was ordered in mid December. Build week was 1/30. my tracker shows "in production on 2/4 and hasn't changed since...2/4. mine was actually "built" on 2/5 my dealer confirmed but was waiting for a spray in bedliner the day of the fire. I also received the email you referenced. it's the only communication from Ford since Feb 4th. Note that it was 2 years ago today that FMC revealed the Lightning.

I am in the same boat. Made my Lariat ER order on March 30th, 2023, then received the email about "supply chain" issues. I made my original "reservation" on March 30th, 2021. At this rate, I should expect my truck to arrive on March 30th, 2025. Thinking about the Silverado that has a four hundred mile range. Had solar panels installed on the roof and produce about 45 kWh on the sunny days. I should be riding on sunshine by now. Hope it's worth the wait.

Same exact experienced. Placed the order in January and nothing, just "supply chain blah blah blah"...
January 19th for me, I am rowing backwards in the same boat with you all - (Lariat SD) Kinda hoping now I won't get it until August or September so, Maybe just maybe the interest might be rates a little lower.
I joked with my wife about getting it once interest rates are down too. That or it gets bumped all the way to 2024 and they take out that 70lbs of useless wiring harness.

I don't expect any major changes for MY2024.

I haven't been waiting quite as long, I placed my order on 3/30 and received the same letter. I ordered a few extras, such as a spray-on bed liner, and heard from the “fordvideoguy” Tim Bartz that ordering those from the factory can slow the process; that item should be done after you take delivery. 🤷🏽‍♂️

I haven’t been waiting quite as long; that must be frustrating. I placed my order on 3/30 with extras and received the same letter. I did a little research and heard from the “fordvideoguy” Tim Barz that if extras like spray-on bed liners, bed covers, mud flaps, etc., there could be a delay in the process and those items should be ordered after you take delivery; I called the dealer and had them taken off. Any comments?
I did get spray in bed liner. That might be my delay. Thanks for the info.
Arrived at a local east coast dealer yesterday:

I received my invitation to order in early April 2023 and ordered truck on April 20th. When I placed the order, I was told that I would be taking delivery between June and August 2023. When I went to the dealer and told them information that I was given about delivery date, they told me I would be lucky if I received it any time this year but more than likely next year. They laughed about it. Ford can’t even be honest with their customers or dealers. I have yet to receive a production date notice from ford.

Now I see on this forum that ford is sending out e-mails to people that have production dates, that they don’t know when they will be getting their cars. And then there are other comments that Ford/dealers are refusing to return deposits to people who are canceling.

It seems to me that Ford is violating consumer protection laws and conducting a bait and switch operation. All while raising pricing that puts truck beyond federal tax incentive program, something they lobbied heavily for. Henry Ford is rolling over in his grave and embarrassed by his company.

FORD WHAT’S THE DEAL.
