Hi

I have been watching a few youtube videos of lightning customers experiences when putting in their orders and one youtuber (SEVLOG) mentions once you get the "its time to order your Lightning" you get two options
1) Order via website and
2) order via dealership.
He went with dealership and it sounded like it worked out fine. He chose that option because he thought he had to put down a deposit anyway which ended up not being the case.

Any other experiences and advice on what the pros/cons would be? I am personally looking to get the order in IMMEDIATELY so as to decrease my wait time (yea maybe I am in the market for the wrong vehicle) and then any other thoughts on the pros/cons of each option.

whether you order online or 'at' your dealer, the process is basically the same - you OWN your invitation to order, not the Dealer, so if you grace the dealer's doors and allow them to take on that task, you also will not be privy to the online emails and updates about your order, only the dealer will.
most of us on these forums want to be able to see each and every step along the way while we wait so patiently for our trucks... my dealer even told me that they get LESS information than we customers who ordered online do.

Great info. Thanks.

If you have a choice do it online. If you do it at the dealer you won't have any visibility to check on your truck yourself.

Will you be able to sign a purchase agreement with the dealership if you do it online? Isn’t the purchase agreement the document that prevents the adm?
Pre-sale purchase agreements are not a common practice. The dealer I used absolutely would not do it until the vehicle arrived on their property. There are too many 'what ifs?' involved. Talk and get answers to pricing questions before the dealer accepts your order and keep any build and pricing sheets. Especially, the detailed one you can expand and screenshot or print from your online Ford account. You can change dealers BEFORE the order is accepted, not afterward.

Wasn’t that what everyone was suggesting though? Even ford motor? Guarantee your pricing, knock off all the dealer adds, was the only was to prevent the 10k adm
