Hi, I have a question about the one time charging limit function. Last night when I got home my SOC was 82%. I pluged the truck in. And before I turned it off I set a one time charging limit to 90%. I don't want to routinely charge above 90% if I don't have too. But it was also low temperature last night. It got down to about 20º. This morning when I woke up I see the app says that the truck is charged to 92% already. And the app is still showing a target charge level of 100%.

Did I miss something in the procedure to set the charging limit? It's a little frustrating that the limit doesn't seem to work. Has anyone else had experience with this? What am I missing here? Or is the function just broken?

Try it again tonight and see if you missed something. Also, after you plug in, make sure the truck says it is charging to the preset limit or if it says it is charging to 100%.

I tried again tonight. I set the charging limit in the truck before turning it off. Then checked the app and it still shows 100% target. I guess I have to go back to the manual and try to figure out why.

This has been happening to me a lot lately as well. FordPass app is set to 85% and I set the one-time limit in the truck to 85% but it keeps defaulting to 100%. It shows the saved change until I turn off the truck and then goes back to 100%. I also just had the powertrain malfunction and a 1PD fault with associated service light. Luckily those cleared themselves after a restart. Lots of gremlins lately exacerbated with not being able to get 3.5.5 to work.

It is possible it does not recognize the location properly. This can happen with a GPS fault. You might try deleting that location and starting it over. It's possible that the GPS location was off on the original charging session you used to save it.

I too have had the truck blow through my present one time limit of 80%. The 1st time I thought it was me but yesterday I left the truck on, plugged in, then set the one time limit to 80, checked that the time was updated (it was), and then shut the truck off. Got up to a 100% charge this morning. ???

Yes, this seems to be one of the most problematic parts of the programming. @Ford Motor Company should look into making it more reliable.

Never having seen a Lightning before but having done a lot of research, including perusing this forum, I drove to my local dealer last Saturday in my Rav4 Hybrid, and drove home 8 hours later in my 2022 Lariat SR. My charging experiences have been all over the place since then. I set up charge times here at home with a 90% max charge, and the charger occasionally wouldn't turn on. Decided to not go with set charge times and simply use the charge when plugged in feature, with a max limit of 90%. It always charges to 100%. With the cold weather that only gives me a 190 to 200 mile range, which is very poor, so I don't mind maxing it out but I do worry about charging to 100% too often. Definitely some kinks to work out, but the truck itself has been great so far.

I was waking up to the 100% charge, too. I'm not sure how I fixed it because the truck is also now honoring both my T-O-U time blocks and rate using my chosen utility.

Could these ignored settings be the case of a hidden SAVE button? There's at least one settings screen in the app that seems to accept the settings, but has a SAVE button that I always seem to miss. You have to scroll down to find it.

Edit: There's a SAVE button on the screen with the charge percentage slider. On my iPhone, it's hidden and you have to scroll down a ways to discover it.

I finally figured out how to set the charge limit in the truck, set it to 90%, and kept an eye on things via the FordPass app. It got up to 92% before I stopped charging. WTH?

Didn't change anything from the night before, charge level set to 90%, in the truck not FordPass, charged to 90% and stopped charging. ?? That's great, but it'll have to happen a few more times before I trust it ever again.

If your charge scheduling is reliably not working, the best option to try is to delete the schedule completely and set it up again. Sometimes the GPS location will be a bit off and the truck won't know it is in the right place.

It's been great for 4-5 nights in a row. Setting it in the truck and not FordPass seemed to do the trick.
