Last weekend I was using one-pedal drive as I normally do and was in the “coasting” range on accelerator and when I lifted my foot off to come to a stop I continued to coast as if I was in two-pedal mode with no input on brake or accelerator. I then had to brake to come to a stop at the red light. When I again engaged the accelerator departing the red light one-pedal was operating as intended. Has anyone else experienced this sort of issue? There was no harm done and both before/after one-pedal has performed without issue.

What was your state of charge? It shouldn't affect Lightning with its fairly large buffer. But, if the battery is 'full', you can't add regen. Maybe a little power drain was enough to give enough buffer to make regen effective? idk

I had just come off a one hour interstate drive so battery would have been around 68%. This was not immediately following interstate exit but probably 5 miles later.

My suspicion was that I was hovering the accelerator right at the coasting point for roughly 0.5 miles and perhaps the system gave up from rapidly transitioning from power supply to regen and back (transparent to operator).

I had that happen yesterday on my Lariat SR. I was between 60% and 70% state of charge. Took my foot completely off the accelerator for an upcoming stop sign and the truck just coasted along as if it were in 2-pedal mode. Obviously, I used the brake pedal to stop and after that 1-pedal functioned normally for the rest of the trip. In my case it was shortly after starting the truck. I had backed out of my driveway and the ‘coasting’ event happened at the first stop sign on my street about 6 houses away. This is my typical direction of travel and 1-pedal braking has always worked previously at that same stop.

I have the latest software update 4.1.3

Cognitive dissonance is playing a real role here as I try to think back to whether or not I could have bumped the cruise button.

Tdawg, the dealership is likely to simply try and repeat the problem. It may be worth calling ford support to see if they can have engineers pull the data over the air and check for whether cruise was enabled at the times you had it happen.

I think it is dangerous to have the cruise engage at 15 MPH. I have done this and its a bit scary. I accidently set it on about once a week.

You’ve got me second guessing about the inadvertent cruise control activation, but I’m more than 90% certain that cruise control was not the cause of my experience. Will continue to observe…
