Not sure who can answer this question / statement. I got my reservation less than 24 hours of the reservation opening on 19MAY2021. My date was 20MAY2021 and Reservation # 10848198. When I talked to my Dealer they only got 1 order for January and I am number 54 on their list. I had heard rumor that a lot of the Lariat and Platinums where being built first to get the hype on the new Lighting and I was hoping that would help me move up the list. It does seem pretty odd that I am number 54. I am hoping for some has any idea. If they only get 1 or 2 a months I am looking at a couple years before I get it.

You are probably on the bubble between 22 and 23. There are too many unknowns about how Ford is selecting reservations to be more precise than that.

Ford had 20,000 Lightning orders within 12 hours of the reveal, and there's no way they're going to make much more than that for 2022. The estimate of 15,000 is still hanging in the air from early articles. Ford has said that number is "wrong," but they haven't countered with their own figure - probably because even if it's wrong it's likely not very far off. Of course, not everyone who reserved will convert to an order, so you may still be in the running for a 2022 vehicle, but I suspect you'd be at the very end of the list.

Ford is also allocating more Lightnings to states that have EV quotas and MPG quotas for manufacturers to meet. So if you're not in a super-EV-friendly state you're less likely to get yours soon. From what I've heard, most dealers got 1 order in the first wave, and many got 0 or 1 in the second wave. Hopefully the 3rd wave will be larger, but we won't know until Feb 3rd(ish).

Ordering for the 2023 model year is supposed to start in the summer. So if you don't make it into the limited 2022 model year, you will likely only have a few months to wait to order for 2023.
