I have had my lightning for 2 months now, and I love it. Had my first issue and I can't seem to find any others like this. I went out to the garage and immediately noticed that the lights hadn't come on. I unplugged it from the charger and hopped in, and no power. Like nothing, no lights, no screens, nothing. Checked the 12-volt battery and had 12.9 volts on it. I checked the app and last night at 9 pm it had 89% charge on the main batteries. I had to get it towed out of my garage, and that was a pain in the ass. Nowhere in the manual could I find a way to put it in neutral. I called the Ford dealer and they had no solution either. Watched the tow company drag it onto the flatbed on Teflon skids. I would love to know if there was a way to put this thing in neutral when there is no power to the truck at all. Anyone else have an issue like this?

The neutral lock (in) button is next to the shifter. Not sure if it would work given your total loss of power.

Can anyone tell me what this button if for? I can’t find any mention of it in the manual and sales rep doesn’t know.

I would have suggested to manually release the frunk, remove the positive cable from the 12v battery, wait 30 seconds, and reattach. That's like a 'reboot' of a laptop...it mostly works.

That was the second thing I did, right after checking the voltage level of the battery.

I had it set to charge to 90% and from the app I see it got to 89% last night around 9:30 PM when it stopped communicating with Fordpass. Was there an OTA update last night that bricked my truck? Just find it strange that I parked it a 4:30 PM to start charging at 7:00 PM and it quit while sitting idle.

Checked the 12-volt battery and had 12.9 volts on it.

When checking the 12-volt battery it is important to remove both leads from the battery as the high voltage battery (the trucks big battery) will charge the 12 volt when the truck is off and thus you could be detecting voltage on the 12 volt that is actually current coming form the high voltage battery. If the 12 volt battery is bad or connections were loose or poorly contacting, This could cause the truck to be totally dead. Might not have hurt to tried replacing the 12 volt battery prior to getting a tow in case that was all it was.

I found out that the button at the lower left of the shifter is for towing and car washes. It's the N with a arrow around it.
