Just sat down with my salesperson to finalize the details. I ordered the 22my but was converted to a 23my for an extra $10k (no rebate for Canadian customers) but that is another thread.
I've known about the on-board scales for a while but what caught me a little off guard was the removal of heated steering wheel. Didn't @Ford Motor Company just send out a notification to all customers (I literally got a message in my Ford Pass App yesterday afternoon) saying in order to conserve energy during winter months they recommend reducing the use of cabin hvac and instead depend on HEATED STEERING WHEEL and Heated Seats? What the hell Ford, you keep taking things away from my order and adding costs. Apparently a bulletin went out to the dealers saying there will be no ability for a retrofit either. Also, it turns out the portable charger isn't included with the 2023 and when they converted my order they didn't add the $500 unit, now they say I can order one through their parts desk for $1000 hahahahaa. I've been waiting since November 2021 and I pick up the truck on Monday. This whole experience has been a shit show.

Do a search for threads with “heated” in the title. There are already multiple threads discussing this. Due to a chip shortage it has been removed but can be added back in later.

I’m with you on this …I can live with a delay on getting me the Heated Steering Wheel - but ONBOARD SCALES? That is a HUGE part of the range calculation system and over the life of the truck it if far more valuable then the $640 they “give back” in the order. Wait till we try to sell it later and buyers ask if it’s the 2023 without the scales….the value will be greatly reduced.

If both the scales and heated steering wheel can be added in later I am fine with delay but if they cannot I will likely tell them let me go on hold again until they can get supply chain together and then I will possibly reconsider. Very disappointing after 1.5 years waiting on this…

The salesman told me he received a Bulletin from Ford on October 10th saying the Heated steering wheel will not have to capacity for retrofit. I'm not sure if its the same for the scales.
I hate try cry over what to the majority of people is not a big deal, but where I live, after shoveling my driveway and scraping the ice off our cars, the heated wheel gets used daily.

Note that is contrary to what many others have posted. Does anyone have definitive word on this?

I will ask the salesman if I can get a copy of the bulletin and post it, he literally showed it to me. There were two items, I don't remember what the second one was...
I just remembered, it was heated mirrors. I don't know if the mirrors can be retrofit but we definitely talked about the steering wheel and how it makes no sense that it could not be retrofit.

I have asked my dealer to try and get details and also reached out to a Ford EV contact I have in LinkedIN and am awaiting a response…these are features that in my opinion are non-negotiable on a 90,000 plus truck - will probably be a dealbreaker for me if they cannot be added later.

I’m not going to get stuck with a sub-par, less valued version of the truck just because my order windows was poorly placed….I want to defer and wait to get the original truck they convinced me was worth buying.

I hope this might be helpful...See the post on Oct. 19th from this thread, it seems to indicate that there will be an FSA. I did notice that it mentions a $50 charge as opposed to the $140 most are seeing.

So maybe it is just Canada?

I haven't even placed my order yet and the more I read each day, the less I wanna spend 90k+ on a vehicle that keeps losing items that I was counting on getting. It's disappointing.
Me too - I am trying to take everything into consideration - I could live without the scales IF they did a software update that would allow me to input an approximate load weight rather than relaying on the data from the scales. If they can just delay the heating steering wheel and add it in later that is fine with me.

Heated mirrors are pretty standard these days. Especially for something that cost as much as the lighting does. That’s a safety issue. If I wanted a truck without heated side mirrors, I’d get a classic.

I did not see heated mirrors removed from mine - just the steering wheel (which can be added later) and the scales/smarthitch.

If they can provide us a software update that allows us to enter the appropriate load weight manually, I could live without the scales.

Same for me.... heated mirrors are still on for me. Build 1 week from today.

My base model '22 Frontier has manual non-heated mirrors.......but has blind spot monitoring. Not sure who thought that was a good idea but it's proven to be a bit annoying at times.

My issue is not just with the heated mirrors though, but the collective things getting axed - from the mirrors, to the steering wheel, to the scales, to the reclining seats etc. Plus at this point - I will lose the $7500 tax credit. I'm just trying to take it all into consideration at this point.
