I received this email today. You should probably all be receiving it. I received it twice, once for the Mach E and once for the Lightning.

SYNC 4 Updates - November 2022
Dialing Up Your In-Vehicle Experience
The latest Ford Power-Up software update includes enhancements to the design of SYNC®* itself. It offers new features and refinements based on your feedback.
A Bigger Experience
We've increased the interaction area within the display for the Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ interfaces, as well as other features like navigation.

Added Dial Functionality
More than just volume — the dial on your SYNC display can now be used for climate controls too, so you can adjust temperature, fan speed and, when equipped, heated seats.

Simple Refinements
We've updated the status bar at the top of the screen, implementing new, clear icons that make it easier to read. Settings and controls have been consolidated and reordered so you can more easily access drive modes and Ford Power-Up software update details — all to help provide enhanced visibility and usability. We've even improved access to gaming, video streaming and third-party Wi-Fi networks.

Further Improvements
  • Personal Profile: Now easily accessible from the status bar
  • Simple Update Scheduling: View and accept prescheduled update times from the convenience of your in-vehicle screen
  • Drive Modes: Quickly interact with, and easily change, your onscreen drive mode
  • In Development: Set a recurring schedule for Ford Power-Up software updates through the FordPass®** App

Yea I'm interested in how simplified. I want a more dedicated camera button.

FORD F-150 LIGHTNING TO GET UPDATED SYNC 4A INTERFACE

As Ford Authority reported back in April, the Ford F-150 Lightning was expected to become one of the very first vehicles in The Blue Oval’s lineup to utilize a new Android-based infotainment system as part of a new partnership with Google – a move that was confirmed by CEO Jim Farley himself. Additionally, the Ford Mustang Mach-E was also slated to receive a total display makeover incorporating this same change for 2023, as well as video streaming apps. However, neither of these things happened, and the 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning instead launched with the same carryover Sync 4A software. Now, sources familiar with the matter have told Ford Authority that the 2023 F-150 Lightning will instead get an updated Sync 4A interface in the coming days.

For 2023, the Sync 4A system present in select F-150 Lightning models will look and feel a bit different than its predecessor courtesy of a new layout that was revised using customer feedback. This new system features enhancements including a new camera icon at the top of the 15.5-inch infotainment screen, improved scheduling for Ford Power-Up in-vehicle software updates, consolidated vehicle settings into a single menu for easier access, larger app icons, new icons for the status bar, and the ability to adjust fan, temperature, and heated seat settings via the audio volume knob.

For now, this change applies to 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning Lariat and Platinum pickups built after December 15th, though 2022 model year pickups and other 2023 models produced before that date will also get a Ford Power-Up software update featuring these enhancements at a future date.

As Ford Authority originally reported back in February 2021, future Blue Oval models will eventually utilize Google’s new Android-based infotainment system after the two companies previously signed a six-year partnership agreement. This new software is expected to launch at different times in different vehicles, effectively replacing Sync in the process, while also utilizing a robust number of third-party applications.

We’ll have more on the 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning soon, so subscribe to Ford Authority for the latest Ford F-150 news, F-150 Lightning news, and ongoing Ford news coverage.

Great news: A member of the Mach E Forum wasn't getting any PowerUps so he took it to his dealer to have the software controlling PowerUps replaced. Who they did, he had the new user interface!

The Volume knob controls fan, temperature, etc. There is a permanent Camera Button at the top of the screen!

Best of all, note how quickly it starts up without the splash screen!
