So, I finally got my F-150 Lightning Lariat (standard batter) on July 13th (after waiting a week after the actual delivery to dealer on July 8th). I believe the delay was caused due to the dealer wanting to learn about the vehicle so that they in turn can teach me during the handoff. My local dealer was only provided with two Lightnings, a Pro model which they can't sell for 6 months and my Lariat.

So I also found out today, for those people who ordered a Lightning Pro with a Standard battery are eligible for a New York, $2000 rebate (if you upgrade the Pro to a Extended Range battery you are only eligible for $500 New York rebate). All other trims XLT, Lariat, Platinum only get a $500 New York rebate.

Anyhow I really like the Lightning Lariat but there was a learning curve to the charging process. The FordPass application wasn't the most intuitive and I wound up paying a few times to charge up via the local ChargePoint chargers. I also realized that I won't bother with anything less than a Level 2 charger. Also some local chargers in my area simply didn't work. Using my home 120 volt outlet is pretty painful where I only get two driving miles added per hour of charging, although if you don't drive far distances its not a show stopper. I can tell you one thing for sure, every time I'm at a charging station I do get praise from other drivers who love the vehicle. Also since I have a standard battery I noticed I guess to conserve battery life, the chargers automatically stop at 90% so in my case that would give me about 217 mile range (although lower if you are running your air conditioner). So its a vehicle that will give you a bit of range anxiety if you are driving into areas that don't have as many chargers, this was the case for me as I drove to central Pennsylvania over the weekend.

The overly sized Ford Sync 4A tablet display is not the most intuitive but I do like the native Ford navigation application because it recommends charging stops if your trip happens to exceed your driving range. I wish there was a simpler way to scroll between Sirius XM stations but I do like that channel presets are all mixed in together, AM, FM and Sirius stations so you don't have to change "bands" when browsing through your favorites.

So far its a great truck but I wish it made a bit more noise. My biggest complaint at the moment is that its too damn quiet.

My Lightning was picked up from Empire Ford in Huntington. I was the first customer delivery for that location.
BTW follow up with them regarding the NYS Rebate on the F-150 lightning. I realized after the fact that they did not add the $500 rebate for my truck. Also don't forget about the CleanPass Clean Pass Program (ny.gov)

That's what I actually love about my Lariat. How quiet it is I noticed almost immediately and my other Lariat with the ecoboost is quiet except for the wind noise at 75 mph.
