I'm not sure exactly what you mean. I don't think you can remove the navigation, but you can navigate away from it (to the radio, the apps, etc) or you can use "Calm Mode" - push the volume ring down once and the screen will mostly turn off.

I think he's talking about the new Android Auto update. It splits the screen, but you can't "unsplit" it. They listened to customers who wanted better utilization of the screen, but it's not that user friendly because you can't choose what's being displayed or switch to a full screen mode.

If you are playing music then the map gets smaller, and the music takes up a larger portion of the bottom.

That's exactly what's going on. Maybe another update will fix that?
More of an android auto thing than a ford thing. You can turn off Android auto if you don't use it, or hit a different screen from home (radio, this trip, etc).
From what I can tell, no way to adjust Android auto home tiles

Yeah, it's definitely Android's update. It's not a bad idea, I just wish they had included the option to turn it back to full screen. I use android auto for just about everything but with the map taking up the top half and only having a third of the screen for the rest of the android interactions it really limits the experience from what it was. Of course, that's just my personal opinion.
