I have been unable to use navigation for the better part of a week. I can still use CarPlay with Apple Maps but I cannot use the Ford onboard navigation. If I use the steering wheel short cut to talk to the vehicle and I ask for navigation it tells me “sorry the navigation system is still being set up”. If I try to look for the widget for navigation it’s not visible. I also can’t select it from within the app menu or anywhere else.

I did a quick search and didn’t see that anyone else had come across this problem. I was wondering whether I’m going to have to do a master reset And whether that would fix the problem. Don’t want to sit through putting all my settings back in as my key was a pain in the butt to set up.

It’s nice that I have Apple Maps but I actually prefer the look of the onboard map when I’m driving around. Thankfully I rarely have to use navigation but we do have a trip coming up in two weeks to go camping and I’m going to want to know where chargers are which is the benefit of the Ford onboard navigation over Apple Maps.

Any ideas?

I'm having the same issue. If you bring up the weather forcast, select the radar tab and cancel your nav should be working. It's a workaround. I have an appointment at my dealer next week.

That's what I was thinking, it seems like Ford Power-Up OTA 3.4.0 isn't going over well for everyone. For some the update fails completely. I wish Ford included more details on what exactly the update includes.
Yea I hate their "details" tab. A lot of words to say nothing. But I've avoided approving the go ahead on this one.

I have had a go at reinstalling the update with a new download. The vehicle goes through the update interaction, yet guides and route are as yet missing when all that returns on the web. I had a go at doing a delicate reset of the head unit utilizing the recessed button.

A few updates provide real release notes. Most are rather nondescript.

I noticed settings and such being lost after updates but, after the third update I realized the truck was defaulting to the guest profile and until I bring back my profile many things don't seem to work. I may be the only slow learner in the group but that is always the first thing I check.

Thanks for the tip, Joe. Unfortunatly, I'm on the correct profile. Yet the Ford navigation app is missing. Interestingly. other apps have been added. If there is someone out there who knows the solution, I'd love to hear from you.
